Position : Re-entry Lead Peer Mentor
Department : Mission Services
Reports to : Re-entry Program Coordinator

Summary
The Re-entry Lead Peer Mentor is to act as the site lead for the First Step Act/reSTARt Peer Mentoring Program throughout the Goodwill Keystone Area territory. It is the responsibility of the Re-entry Lead Peer Mentor to coach and support part-time Re-entry Peer Mentors, as well as monitor their engagement with program participants and compliance with program procedures. The Re-entry Lead Peer Mentor is responsible for ensuring positive outcomes for participants enrolled in the program.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for coaching and supporting Re-entry Peer Mentors; responsible for monitoring peer mentor engagement with mentees and compliance with program requirements for peer mentoring services.
Develop and implement a recruitment strategy for potential peer mentors; assist with hiring and provide initial training to peer mentors.
Develop and implement a recruitment strategy for peer mentee candidates; complete intake and all initial paperwork and coordinate appropriate matches for mentees and mentors.
Ensure mentor-participant relationship, meeting frequency and program fidelity are adhered to by the peer mentor.
Maintain knowledge of current best practices in the delivery of re-entry services and peer mentorship.
Assures required documentation of the mentor/mentee relationship is maintained as per program regulations. Provides required reporting to appropriate staff, agency, and funding sources for peer mentoring services.
Assist with organizing and developing training manuals and procedures, assessment and evaluation procedures for peer mentorship program.
Facilitates regular education sessions regarding the peer mentor model for workforce development staff, partners, and the community.
Ability to create and deliver interactive mentoring activities while ensuring all activities are in accordance with grant/contract requirements.
Exemplify appropriate boundaries, accountability, and professionalism within the peer mentor model; model professional peer leadership by setting expectations and reinforcing standards.
Demonstrates the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, partners, funders and community members.
Assists in the development of a sustainability plan for the peer mentoring program.
Provides direct services as a peer mentor, as needed, to maintain the flow of services.
Completes data input into a management information system and adheres to timely completion of all reporting requirements.
Thorough knowledge of principles of reentry and Peer Mentoring and all grant requirements and regulations.
Promotes an environment of workplace safety by training and informing others regarding safety standards/precautions. Monitors safety and takes corrective action. Ensures that regulatory safety requirements are adhered to.
Communicates progress, problems, and concerns to the Re-entry Program Coordinator.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or relevant field; or Associates Degree in Human Services with two (2) years’ experience in the relevant field; or High School diploma or GED equivalent and four (4) years’ relevant experience which enables the individual to meet the standards and expectations of the position.
One (1) year experience in Human Services with Case Management experience.
Lived experience with the criminal justice system, including personal experience as a formerly incarcerated individual required as required by grant.
Skills/Abilities/Qualifications
Ability to make public presentations.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evening hours and weekends, as required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable with public speaking.
Basic computer literacy including Microsoft and Google programs.
Ability to independently organize work to completion.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and satisfactorily complete a motor vehicle check on an annual basis.
Ability to travel within Goodwill Keystone Area territory.
Must complete and successfully pass Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance, and Bureau of Prison background investigation.
