The team consists of environmental technicians, project coordinators, project managers, technical experts, and qualified professionals. We have been providing contaminated site program management services to the worlds most technically focused companies for over 15 years. We consistently have backlog of 9 to 12 months and provide growth opportunities for our high performing team members. We specialize in health and safety, Phase I/II ESAs, risk assessment and remediation. Our team takes on the biggest Canadian projects from coast to coast to coast.&nbsp;The projects range in type, size and complexity, and the successful candidate will be able to utilize the team strengths to manage a large amount of field work efficiently and effectively. &nbsp;</span></p><p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">WSP has a new opportunity for an Contaminated Sites Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our Remediation Program Management team based in Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg or Regina. This new opportunity will allow you to coordinate and conduct field work related to monitoring, investigating, remediating contaminated sites impacted by hydrocarbons (diesel, gasoline crude oil etc.) fertilizers and metals, as well as prepare technical reports. &nbsp;It is expected that you are self-motivated and will demonstrate strong time management and communication skills.</span></p><hr><p><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><strong>Your Impact</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Preparing and adhering to site-specific health and safety plans to mitigate or eliminate risks to you, WSP clients, employees and the public.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Project coordination&nbsp;including set-up of field work programs, preparation of field work instructions, budget and schedule management and subcontractor management.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Conducting&nbsp;occasional field work including soil, groundwater, surface water and sediment investigations, monitoring programs and overseeing site remediation.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Participation in a team environment, working closely with and supporting Project Managers and Field Technicians.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Preparing&nbsp;proposals, including development of work scopes, schedules, and cost estimates for senior review.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Completing&nbsp;and assisting&nbsp;in data collection, compilation, interpretation and reporting for phased environmental site assessment, remediation and site monitoring.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Preparing&nbsp;technical reports for review by senior staff.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Mentoring junior staff in conducting environmental site assessments.</span></li></ul><hr><p><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><strong>The Skills That Set You Apart</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Bachelor’s degree in related field (sciences and/or Engineering).</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Minimum 1 year of experience in contaminated site assessments.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Sound understanding of the need for health and safety procedures in the workplace/Possess a safety conscious attitude.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Remedial excavation experience is required.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Previous experience with soil and ground water sampling.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Understanding of the Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba Environmental regulations.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Professional designation is preferred.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Experience in the oil and gas sector will be an asset.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Preference will be given to those individuals with more extensive experience with respect to soil and groundwater monitoring programs, Phase I and II environmental site assessments, site remediation, and provincial regulations.</span></li></ul><hr><p><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><strong>Why Choose WSP?</strong></span></p><p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">We exist to shape communities to advance humanity.
