    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">HUB is Hamlin’s afterschool care program. </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">HUB stands for “Hang out, Unwind, Belong” – it’s also a fitting name because HUB is the center of activities in Hamlin's Extended Day Programs. Our Extended Day team works daily to make each student feel welcomed, nourished, and engaged during their time with us. We provide a mix of structured and unstructured activities, and students can choose to move between playing outside with their friends, getting their homework done, participating in an art activity, or relaxing with a book or a game. HUB sees anywhere from 60-100 students per day, and is usually busy, lively, and energetic! Ideal candidate has energy to match that of our students and programs.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Reports to:</span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"><br></span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Director of Extended Day and Enrichment Programs</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Primary Responsibility:</span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"> Plan and lead daily art projects in a classroom with 15-25 students in grades K-4. As part of our commitment to a diverse and inclusive workplace, we recruit and hire applicants with diverse backgrounds and professional experience that show their commitment to K-8 education and being a contributing member of a learning community. </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Specific Duties/Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Prepare the HUB art room with supplies and equipment for daily programming.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Arrive prepared with a weekly curriculum for drop-in student art projects (curriculum can be flexible and subject to change).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Lead groups of 15-25 students grades K-4, in daily art activities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Oversee the organization of art supplies, monitor inventory levels, and order or prepare shopping lists for material resupply.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Within greater Extended Day program:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Provide general supervision of K-4 students in the art room and on the playground during the 30-min sign-in window after school is dismissed.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Step in when needed to supervise students in indoor and outdoor play spaces</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Work proactively with students to assist individual and group needs. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Manage classroom environment and support conflict resolution as needed.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Assist with snack and general daily programming goals. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Interact with families during student pick-up times.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Maintain a clean and organized working environment.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Communicate and coordinate with the Extended Day team, providing support as needed.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Meet periodically with supervisor for evaluation and feedback. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Advocate for the goals of the afterschool program and the school.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Model and promote the Hamlin Creed: Compassion, Courage, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Create an environment of balance: structured and unstructured choices, work and play.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Working towards or possesses a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Passion for and prior experience working with children.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Desire and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Enthusiasm, creativity, warmth, patience, and flexibility.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Effective verbal and written communication skills with staff, students, and parents.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Ability to problem-solve and resolve conflicts.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Reliability and commitment to a consistent weekly schedule; demonstrated ability to arrive prepared and on time.</span></li>\n</ul>",
