About the role
The Communications and Events Senior Associate at Tomorrow Energy Partners will support Clean Tomorrow and other organization’s external presence to deepen its engagement with key audiences. This role is responsible for supporting communications and events functions for multiple clients, including producing compelling content and materials that advance policy, and planning and executing events that convene stakeholders, build relationships, and elevate our work.
The ideal candidate is a strong implementer, a skilled project manager, and a natural collaborator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited about the clean energy and climate space.
This role will report to the Senior Director.
About Clean Tomorrow
Clean Tomorrow advances policies that reduce climate emissions by turning policy ambition into action. Clean Tomorrow works to catalyze rapid change that will accelerate the innovation and growth of clean energy by conducting original research and engaging with partner organizations to identify opportunities for changes in policy that are actionable in five years or fewer. Clean Tomorrow’s strictly non-partisan stance places policy over ideology; Clean Tomorrow will form the diverse coalitions necessary to advance policies that truly reduce emissions and confront the urgency of climate change.
Key Responsibilities
Communications and Public Affairs (50%)
Draft, edit, and manage consultants producing a range of external communications, including newsletters, website content, social media posts, press materials, and organizational announcements. Support the development of messaging and talking points for organizational leadership. Maintain and update our digital presence, including website and social media channels. Track media coverage and compile regular media monitoring reports. Assist with design and production of presentations, one-pagers, and other collateral materials. Coordinate with program staff to translate technical and policy content into accessible communications for broad audiences. Events (50%)
Plan and execute events, including convenings, roundtables, webinars, and conference participation. Manage all logistical aspects of events: venue sourcing, vendor coordination, invitations, registration, run-of-show, and post-event follow-up. Develop event materials including agendas, briefing documents, and speaker preparation guides. Serve as the primary point of contact for event speakers, participants, and vendors. Track event budgets and ensure activities are delivered on time and within scope. Support post-event documentation, including summary notes and lessons learned. Qualifications
2–4 years of experience in communications, public affairs, events management, or a related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to write clearly for diverse audiences. Demonstrated experience planning and executing events, from small meetings to larger convenings. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency with standard office and communications tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, WordPress, email marketing platforms, social media management tools). Interest in clean energy, climate policy, or the nonprofit/advocacy sector. Desired Skills & Experience
Experience working in a policy, advocacy, or think tank environment. Familiarity with energy, environment, or climate issues. Experience with design tools such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, or similar. Comfortable working in AI tools to advance communications goals and efforts. Comfort working in a small, collaborative team with a high-trust, entrepreneurial culture. Experience supporting senior leadership on external-facing work. Working Conditions
Full-time, regular position based in Washington, DC. Hybrid or fully remote. Occasional travel (10-15%) of time required for events and organizational convenings. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Compensation & Benefits
