[email protected] Position Summary: Join Origami Rehabilitation as a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist, delivering evidence-based therapy that helps individuals strengthen communication, cognition, and connection. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you’ll collaborate to advance Origami’s mission of creating opportunities and transforming lives. In this role, you won’t just support communication; you’ll help individuals regain confidence, independence, and a sense of possibility. By fostering inclusive, timely collaboration with clients, families, and fellow professionals, you’ll play a direct role in meaningful, life-changing outcomes. Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information internally and with external partners. Proactively address tasks and utilize problem-solving techniques for smooth communication and timely resolutions. Adhere to ASHA’s code of ethics and State of Michigan regulations while evaluating and treating clients referred by physicians. Document assessments, progress notes, discharge summaries, and billing information promptly and accurately. Provide education on swallowing precautions, alternative modalities, and best practices to clients, staff, and external stakeholders. Design, coordinate, and lead effective group therapy sessions, ensuring meaningful experiences for participants. Offer supervision and mentorship to interns, volunteers, and job shadows, aligning with professional development goals. Contribute to program development and quality improvement through data collection, analysis, and active participation in committees. Manage schedules, report necessary repairs, request resources, and cover SLP services, upholding emergency procedures and other assigned duties. Requirements: Possess a valid State Driver’s License or ability to plan and provide transportation as required ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology Possess a valid Speech-Language Pathology License in the State of Michigan CPR, First Aid, AED certification (provided by Origami) Embraces and embodies Origami's core values: Celebrate the Individual. Preferences: Neurological rehabilitation education/experience Interest in treating children and adult populations Experience in dysphagia assessment and treatment. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to palpate, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop kneel or crawl. Accommodated alternatives are acceptable if they accomplish the necessary essential tasks. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
