    "description": "<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Massage &amp; Body Therapist Position Description</span></span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Overall Purpose:</span> Sparrow’s Nest, as a tranquil haven for wellness, employs skilled, dedicated and<br>compassionate Maternity Focused Massage Therapists. Our therapists provide<br>specialized prenatal and postnatal massage therapy, nurturing the well-being of expecting and<br>new mothers.</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Professional Objective:</span> To deliver the most therapeutically beneficial and appropriate massage<br>and body treatments for our clientele.</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Duties and Responsibilities:</span><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Essential Functions</span></p>\n<p>● Perform all signature massage and spa wellness therapies including prenatal, induction,<br>birth-prep, postpartum, C-section, Lactation, Bereavement and Therapeutic Massages.<br>● Evaluates clients’ specific needs and expectations to determine the best appropriate<br>services, products and personal attention required to achieve satisfaction<br>● Interacts cooperatively with other spa team members to provide a seamless customer<br>experience<br>● Presents a professional and respectful persona for customers and co-<br>workers<br>● Monitors the appointment schedule throughout the day to stay informed on<br>changes, and performs treatments in the allotted amount of time, remaining on<br>schedule</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Other Duties</span><br>● Participate in all staff, team and educational meetings<br>● Adhere to Company policies regarding dress and appearance<br>● Practices the highest standard of sanitation and tidiness in the spa<br>● Actively builds a repeat clientele, and meets service and retail sales performance<br>requirements<br>● Uses appropriate quantities of products and laundry in accordance with company<br>protocols<br>● Participate in laundering linens (washing, drying and folding items during<br>shift); and inventory management, receiving, ticketing and stocking merchandise as<br>needed<br>● Communicates to management any and all occurrences involving clients or co-workers<br>that may require attention or follow-up<br>● Is responsible for cleanliness of countertops and products within the cabin, stocking the<br>room with linens and supplies as needed<br>● Performs prepwork and cleans and restocks work areas as required, (including, without<br>limitation, periodic sanitation under vinyl table covers with UV wand of the table<br>warmers).<br>● If not fully booked, utilizing any available time for client communications and supporting<br>the team as needed</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Qualifications and Availability:</span></p>\n<p>● A valid massage license for the State of California, and spa or practical body therapy<br>experience<br>● Preference given to those trained by Body Therapy Education’s 32 Hour Pre- and Perinatal<br>Massage Therapy Workshop, Developed by Carole Osborne. All instructors accepted.<br>Completion of Certification is highly valued, but not required.<br>● Special technical skills such as Rhythmic Deep Tissue Sculpting, Manual Lymphatic<br>Drainage, Mercier Therapy, Infant Massage Instructor Training are highly valued,<br>but not required<br>● Retail sales and customer service experience desired</p>\n<p>● Must be available for a minimum of 16 hours per week (4 shifts) including one weekend shift (Fri, Sat, or Sun) per<br>week<br>● Customer service and team oriented<br>● Excellent communication and organizational skills<br>● Flexible, and an ability to multi-task<br>● High energy – able to work in a fast-paced environment<br>● Life-long learner, passionate about making a difference in the lives of mothers and<br>babies<br>● Emotional maturity and honed active listening skills</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em><span style=\"font-size: 15px\">For candidates applying for a House-call Position, additional Qualifications include: </span></em></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license and insurance</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Ability to travel to clients' homes within a designated geographic area</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Physical Demands:</span><br>Standing 70%, sitting 10%, walking 15%, lifting 5%, computer use 10%, bending 20%,<br>stooping 10%, lifting up to 50 lbs.</p>",
