Description

Join the Future of Electric Transportation Power Innovations International is expanding our EV charging infrastructure team and is seeking a Field Service Technician specializing in DC Fast Charging systems . In this role, you will support the deployment and reliability of uni-directional and bi-directional DC fast chargers and battery-sled energy systems across customer sites. You will be responsible for installation support, commissioning, troubleshooting, and ongoing service , ensuring customers receive reliable, high-performance charging solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a technician or engineer with strong experience in power electronics, EVSE systems, or industrial electrical equipment who wants to work in one of the fastest-growing sectors of the energy industry. Travel Requirement: This position requires approximately 50% travel to customer locations for installation support, service calls, and commissioning activities. What You'll Do Field Service & Commissioning Perform on-site diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance on DC fast charging systems Support installation, startup, and commissioning of EV charging equipment Respond to service requests, RMAs, and field service events to ensure maximum charger uptime Develop and refine service procedures and troubleshooting documentation Advanced Technical Troubleshooting Diagnose issues involving: DC fast charger power electronics Rectifiers and inverters CAN/Modbus communications Thermal management systems Control boards and embedded electronics Perform remote diagnostics using monitoring platforms, service portals, and log data Work with engineering teams on firmware updates, field failure analysis, and product improvements Customer Success & Support Provide technical guidance to customers, installers, and partners during deployment and service Deliver system training and best practices to installers and technicians Maintain strong relationships with customers and represent the company during site visits and technical meetings Service Quality & Continuous Improvement Assist with warranty claims, RMA processes, and replacement parts coordination Analyze field performance data to identify failure trends and reliability improvements Provide service reporting and insights to leadership and product teams What We're Looking For Required Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field 5+ years of field service or technical support experience Strong technical knowledge of: Power electronics Rectifiers and inverters EVSE or industrial electrical systems Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills Experience using service ticketing systems or CRM platforms for issue tracking and reporting Preferred Experience supporting DC fast charging systems (30 kW – 360 kW) Knowledge of EV charging and electrical standards including: NEC Article 625 UL 2202 / UL 2231 UL 1741 Experience with CANbus, PLCs, or firmware diagnostic tools OSHA 30 or NFPA 70E certification Why Work With Us Work on cutting-edge EV charging infrastructure Collaborate with engineering teams building next-generation charging systems Play a key role in the transition to electrified transportation Opportunity to grow within a rapidly expanding clean-energy technology company Competitive compensation package with full medical, dental and vision insurance
