    "description": "<h2>Department Overview</h2>\n<p>The OHSU-PSU School of Public Health (SPH) is aligned with the American Public Health Association in declaring racism a public health crisis, and our School is committed to becoming an antiracist SPH. We are working to center social justice in our internal and external work as a school and are committed to addressing structural and institutional racism, and to holding ourselves accountable to this work.</p>\n<h2>Function/Duties of Position</h2>\n<p>Under direct supervision, primarily performs basic research or lab activities similar to a Research Assistant 1 or Lab Aide*.</p>\n<p>Primary duties include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Literature searches and information gathering;</li>\n <li>Making systems maps using kumu or word processing software;</li>\n <li>Summarizing information in written and visual form;</li>\n <li>Performing qualitative and quantitative data analysis</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Enrolled in or on vacation from or is otherwise registered in Undergraduate Program (minimum 6 credit hours)</li>\n <li>Word processing</li>\n <li>Verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Collaborative skills</li>\n <li>Problem solving</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Rising Junior or Senior</p></li>\n <li><p>Completed coursework in environmental science or environmental studies (incl. chemistry, biology, earth science, oceanography, etc.)</p></li>\n <li><p>Knowledge of coastal ecology</p></li>\n <li><p>Completion of written research projects</p></li>\n <li><p>Knowledge of literature review process</p></li>\n <li>Experience with data visualization techniques</li>\n <li>Knowledge of social network analysis</li>\n <li>Familiarity with surveys</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Details</h2>\n<p>Hybrid position, with remote work and on-site work at OHSU on Marquam Hill in the Hatfield Research Center. Work will involve using a computer to conduct research.
