About the Role:
As a Pastry Cook, you will play a vital role in creating high-quality baked goods and desserts that delight customers and uphold the reputation of our establishment. You will be responsible for preparing a variety of pastries, breads, cakes, and other confections with precision and creativity, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation. This role requires a strong understanding of baking techniques, ingredient functions, and kitchen safety standards to produce products that meet both quality and health regulations. You will collaborate closely with the culinary team to develop new recipes and seasonal offerings, contributing to menu innovation and customer satisfaction. Ultimately, your expertise and attention to detail will help drive the success of our bakery or food service operation by delivering exceptional pastry products daily.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a pastry cook or baker in a professional kitchen or bakery setting. Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient functions, and kitchen safety standards. Ability to follow recipes precisely and maintain consistency in product quality. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications:
Formal culinary or baking certification from an accredited institution. Experience working with a variety of international pastry styles and techniques. Strong creativity and passion for developing innovative dessert recipes. Experience working in a high-volume bakery or food service operation. Responsibilities:
Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods according to established recipes and quality standards. Measure and mix ingredients accurately, ensuring consistency in flavor, texture, and appearance. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and communicate needs to management to ensure uninterrupted production. Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to develop new pastry recipes and seasonal menu items. Manage baking schedules to meet production deadlines and accommodate special orders or events. Inspect finished products for quality assurance and make adjustments as necessary to maintain standards. Skills:
The required skills such as precise measuring, mixing, and baking are essential for producing consistent and high-quality pastries every day. Knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation ensures a clean and safe working environment, which is critical in food preparation. Preferred skills like creativity and recipe development allow the pastry cook to contribute to menu innovation and customer satisfaction. Inventory management skills help maintain efficient kitchen operations by ensuring necessary ingredients are always available. Collaboration and communication skills are used daily to work effectively with the culinary team and adapt to changing production needs.
Job Type: Full-time/ Part Time
Pay Rate: $16 -$20 (Commensurate with experience)
Tuesday - Sunday 7:00 am - 3:00 pm
Must be able to work weekends and some holidays.
