    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">Inova Women’s Services is seeking a visionary System Chief of Obstetrics to lead obstetric care across the entire Inova Health System. This role provides strategic, operational, and clinical leadership for obstetrics at all Inova hospitals, including the flagship Inova Women’s Hospital at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, a nationally recognized Maternal Level of Care IV tertiary referral center.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">This full-time position includes 0.7 clinical FTE and 0.3 administrative FTE dedicated to system-wide oversight of obstetric services, quality and safety initiatives, program development, multidisciplinary integration, and advancement of evidence-based obstetric care across diverse clinical environments.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">Inova Women’s Services supports one of the largest obstetric programs in the Washington, D.C. region, with more than 10,000 births annually at Inova Women’s Hospital and over 20,000 deliveries system-wide. Our Gynecology program is consistently nationally ranked by <i>U.S. News &amp; World Report,&nbsp;</i>and the only Level IV Maternal Care Center in the region. Inova provides dedicated labor and delivery operating rooms, specialized obstetric emergency services, maternal critical care capabilities, and integrated collaboration with Anesthesia, Neonatology, Responsibilities:</b></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><span>Key System Leadership Responsibilities:&nbsp;</span>\n  <ul>\n   <li><span><b>Provide shared system leadership with Maternal-Fetal Medicine</b>, ensuring unified standards, joint clinical decision-making frameworks, and system-wide alignment of evidence-based practices for both routine and high-risk pregnancies.</span></li>\n   <li><span><b>Strengthen care integration across all Inova obstetric units</b>, aligning standards, pathways, safety bundles, and performance expectations to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality.</span></li>\n   <li><span><b>Facilitate strong cross-disciplinary collaboration</b> with Pediatrics, Neonatology, Anesthesia, Pharmacy, Nursing, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and Complex Family outpatient settings.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li><span>Provide clinical and medical oversight for obstetric operations, promoting excellence in patient safety, quality outcomes, and patient experience.</span></li>\n <li><span>Facilitate effective coordination among employed, community, and independent physicians, ensuring seamless systemwide communication and unified practice standards.</span></li>\n <li><span>Foster collaboration among Inova OB/GYN, InovaCares, OB Emergency Department physicians, Laborists, Midwives and independent community provider groups.</span></li>\n <li>Lead initiatives to harmonize routine obstetric services across all sites, ensuring consistent clinical standards, protocols, and patient management strategies<span>.&nbsp;</span></li>\n <li>Oversee the development and implementation of standardized clinical pathways and algorithms, ensuring adherence through data review, simulation, and multidisciplinary education<span>.</span></li>\n <li><span>Guide initiatives aimed at reducing primary and repeat cesarean section rates through&nbsp;</span>evidence-based interventions, provider engagement, and continuous quality improvement.</li>\n <li>Champion a culture of exceptional patient experience, high-functioning teamwork, and coordinated, patient-centered models of care.</li>\n <li>Monitor and improve key quality metrics—including cesarean rates, maternal morbidity, severe maternal events, and neonatal outcomes—and drive systemwide improvement initiatives.</li>\n <li><span>Support continuing medical education and professional development for physicians, registered nurses, and other members of the obstetric care team.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span><b>Minimum Qualifications:</b></span></p>\n<ul>\n <li><b>Education:</b> Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
