This role helps maintain a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment while supporting children’s learning and daily routines.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>What we offer:</strong></p><ul><li>Live and on demand Professional Development opportunities (Internal and external)</li><li>Employee Assistance Program</li><li>Easterseals Cares Wellness Program</li><li>The Opportunity to Make a Difference in the Community and the Organization</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p><ul><li>Provide classroom coverage across multiple age groups as needed</li><li>Follow lesson plans, schedules, and guidance from the Director or classroom teacher</li><li>Supervise children at all times and maintain proper staff to child ratios</li><li>Assist with daily activities such as learning centers, meals, toileting, outdoor play, and rest time</li><li>Support children’s social and emotional development through positive interactions</li><li>Maintain accurate records, including attendance and daily notes</li><li>Communicate professionally with families and staff</li><li>Keep classrooms clean, organized, and safe; follow all health, safety, and sanitation procedures</li><li>Uphold confidentiality, Easterseals policies, and privacy standards</li><li>Adapt quickly to different classrooms and routines; serve as a positive role model</li><li>Participate in training and professional development opportunities</li><li>Perform other duties as needed to support program operations</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or GED</li><li>Experience working with young children preferred</li><li>Successful completion of the Florida Department of Children &amp; Families 45-hour Child Care Training in early childhood education</li><li>Current CPR and First Aid certification</li><li>Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs</li><li>Positive, patient, and supportive interactions with children</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff</li><li>Willingness to learn DCF standards, ASQ, Conscious Discipline, and developmentally appropriate practices</li><li>Energetic, professional, flexible, and aligned with Easterseals’ values</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Easterseals Florida has been rated a Great Place to Work (2020 – 2025) by our employees!
