The Ropes Coordinator will manage and coordinator ropes course activities for camp ropes programming and training for camp staff. Ensure the safety of all campers and staff during ropes programs.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: &bull; In collaboration with the Camp Directors/Outdoor Educational Director and staff create a fun and engaging ropes and team building programs for all ages. &bull; Maintains a safe environment and ensures all ropes staff adhere to the ropes course safety rules. &bull; Monitors the ropes programming to ensure they are being delivered according to the established schedule. &bull; Schedules ropes staff accordingly for specialty camp weeks and special events. &bull; Engages in positive rapport and open communication with staff, campers, and parents/guardians. &bull; Maintains a face count of campers. &bull; Is attentive to the feelings and emotions of campers and responds or intervenes appropriately. &bull; Promotes the unique talents and diverse abilities of campers by establishing a welcoming environment. &bull; Monitors interactions between campers to ensure healthy dialogue and offers guidance on conflict resolution as needed. &bull; Attends all mandatory YMCA staff meetings, team meetings and staff trainings. &bull; Abides by all camp and YMCA policies &amp; procedures. &bull; Actively promotes camp and the Attleboro YMCA. &bull; Assists with other duties as assigned.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>QUALIFICATIONS &bull; Must be at least 17 years old &nbsp;&bull; Excellent organization skills &bull; Instructor-level certification preferred &bull; Appropriate ropes course certification or willing to obtain certification. &nbsp;&bull; A positive, friendly attitude and strong interpersonal skills &bull; A level of professionalism and maturity that reflects the serious nature of aquatics safety and aligns with the YMCA&rsquo;s core values &amp; mission &bull; Ability to stay calm and respond effectively in an emergency &bull; Quick and effective decision-making skills and strong communication skills &bull; Must maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>WORK ENVIROMENT &amp; PHYSICAL DEMANDS &bull; Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time and in extreme weather conditions &bull; Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling and walking &bull; Ability to speak concisely and communicate effectively &bull; Maintain high-level of physical and mental readiness&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>YMCA COMPETENCIES (Leader) &bull; Emotional Maturity: Demonstrates ability to understand and manage emotions effectively in all situations. &bull; Inclusion: Values all people for their unique talents, and takes an active role in promoting practices that support diversity, inclusion, and global work, as well as cultural competence. &bull; Communication &amp; Influence: Listens and expresses self effectively and in a way that engages, inspires, and builds commitment to the Y&rsquo;s cause. &bull; Developing Self &amp; Others: Develops self and supports others (e.g., staff, volunteers, members, program participants), both formally and informally, to achieve their highest potential.</p></div></div></div>\n",
