We will train you!</strong></span></p><p>United Radio is Central New York&rsquo;s premier upfitter of emergency, construction and commercial vehicles. &nbsp;</p><p>As an Upfit Technician, you will be installing/removing various types of emergency equipment; (lights, land mobile radios, sirens, prisoner partitions, weapon mounts, consoles, controllers, radar equipment, camera/DVR systems, push bumpers, etc.) &nbsp;.</p><p>Job Requirements: Working knowledge of automobile electronics (12 Volt<strong>&nbsp;</strong>systems)&nbsp;and proficiency using basic hand and power tools.</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Disassembling &amp; reassembling vehicle&rsquo;s exterior body parts &amp; interior panels</li><li>Properly mounting &amp; securing components to vehicles</li><li>Routing wires and cabling into vehicles</li><li>Splicing wires and/or soldering connections to equipment &amp; components</li><li>Terminating connections on&nbsp;radios, LED lights, sirens, radar components, and electrical components</li><li>Troubleshooting, diagnosing and/or replacing electrical components</li><li>Documenting all work completed on work orders accurately</li><li>Maintaining a clean, organized and safe working area</li></ul><ul><li>controllers, light bar programming, radar systems, in-car camera systems, mobile radio installations, troubleshooting ability, etc</li></ul><p>Able to: Communicate &amp; work with other employees to execute efficient and quality installations that meet company standards. Provide direct customer service as needed, perform diagnostics/troubleshoot and make repairs to equipment.</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Work inside small areas like vehicle trunks, underneath cars, in engine compartments, underneath dashboards.</li><li>Must be able to lift, squat, kneel, stoop, bend, lay down, twist, climb, stand, sit, etc.&nbsp;</li><li>Assemble small and large items: brackets, partitions, light bars, push bumpers, cargo boxes, vehicle parts, fasteners, wires, loom, clamps, cable ties, etc. using both hands.</li><li>Be in overall good physical health and have full motion/use of hands, fingers, arms, legs, feet, shoulders, elbows, neck, etc. to fit into tight spaces and inspect/install wiring and products inside tight compartments, under, in and around the vehicle.</li><li>Must be able to work above, in, on and under vehicles.</li><li>Have attention to detail and a great work ethic.</li></ul><p>Basic automotive (12- Volt ) electrical knowledge along with general automotive experience is preferred but not required as well as working or advanced knowledge of current emergency vehicle lighting systems, sirens.</p><p>Job Type: Full-time</p><p>Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug test and have a clean driver&rsquo;s record.</p><p>Our shop is fully climate controlled during the entire year.
