Paul, Weiss is looking for a Chief Integration Officer who will be responsible for designing, leading and executing a centralized integration program that maximizes the success of lateral partner hiring and long-term partner retention. This position ensures that lateral partners experience a meaningful, personalized and highly coordinated integration process that accelerates productivity, strengthens internal connectivity and enhances cultural alignment across the firm. This role will work closely with firm leadership, practice groups heads and other Business Professionals teams to drive consistency in onboarding and performance monitoring, and protect the firm’s investment in high-caliber lateral talent by ensuring early momentum, sustained engagement and measurable business impact.
This exempt role is based in New York and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Job Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To:
Provide executive leadership and strategic oversight of the firm’s lateral partner integration function, establishing a centralized, firm-wide approach that maximizes productivity, engagement, and long-term retention
Design, implement and execute a comprehensive integration strategy that aligns lateral partner onboarding and development with the firm’s growth objectives, practice priorities, and long-term business strategy
Establish early executive-level relationships with incoming lateral partners and practice leadership to ensure clear expectations, alignment, and accountability prior to arrival
Direct and oversee all pre-arrival and onboarding planning to ensure seamless transitions and immediate operational readiness across all firm functions
Serve as the firm’s senior integration leader and primary advisor to lateral partners, ensuring a high-touch, concierge-level experience that accelerates early momentum and strengthens partnership connectivity
Lead cross-functional coordination among practice leadership, Business Development, Legal Talent Management, Professional Development, IT, Finance, Legal Recruiting, and other firm leaders to deliver a unified and consistent integration experience
Develop and oversee customized integration roadmaps for each lateral partner, aligning individual business plans with firm strategy and ensuring measurable progress toward defined milestones
Drive strategic introductions, collaboration opportunities, and internal positioning efforts that accelerate client development, cross-selling, and practice integration
Partner with practice leaders and executive leadership to ensure lateral partners are positioned for early success and long-term contribution to firm growth
Establish and maintain a structured performance monitoring and reporting framework that provides real-time visibility into integration progress, revenue ramp-up, and engagement indicators
Deliver regular executive-level reporting and strategic insights to firm leadership on integration performance, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Utilize data and performance metrics to identify trends, address challenges proactively, and continuously improve integration outcomes across the firm
Serve as the central liaison between lateral partners and firm leadership, ensuring clear communication, alignment, and accountability across all stakeholders
Standardize integration protocols, governance structures, and best practices to create consistency, transparency, and measurable impact across the firm’s lateral hiring efforts
Identify and mitigate integration risks that could impact productivity, collaboration, or retention, implementing strategic interventions when necessary
Extend integration support beyond the first year to ensure sustained productivity, leadership engagement, and long-term partner success
Champion cultural integration and partnership engagement initiatives that embed lateral partners into the firm’s leadership structure and collaborative environment
Act as a trusted strategic advisor to lateral partners and firm leadership, guiding decision-making and supporting long-term growth and retention outcomes
Continuously evolve the firm’s integration model to reflect industry best practices and maintain the firm’s competitive position in attracting and retaining elite lateral talent
Lead and mentor a high-performing team while serving as a key member of the firm's C-Suite leadership team.
