As a Lifeguard, you are responsible for the safety of all program participants within the pool area. We are currently seeking lifeguards for various shifts, including high-priority opening shifts.</p><h3><strong>Special Shift Incentive</strong></h3><p>We have a specific need for <strong>Opening Morning Shifts (4:45am &ndash; 7:00am)</strong>. To recognize the early start, these hours are paid at <strong>$5/hour more</strong> than non-opening hours.</p><h3><strong>What can you expect from a typical day:</strong></h3><ul><li>Surveil and visually scan assigned areas every 30 seconds.</li><li>Monitor activities and prevent accidents using various stations (walking/roving or lifeguard stands).</li><li>Respond to all illness and injury incidents immediately; perform First Aid, CPR, and rescues as required by your training.</li><li>Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and professionally enforce pool rules.</li><li>Update information boards and provide general pool operation info to members.</li><li>Attend all mandatory staff meetings and departmental trainings.</li></ul><h3><strong>What will you need to be successful:</strong></h3><ul><li>Must be <strong>15 years of age</strong> or older.</li><li><strong>Ability to meet swim requirements:</strong> 150-yard swim, 2-minute tread (no hands), plus an additional 50-yard swim.</li><li><strong>Brick Retrieval:</strong> Swim 20 yards, retrieve a brick from the deep end, and swim 20 yards back with both hands on the brick.</li></ul><p>Current Lifeguard Certification (preferred); history in rescue work, CPR, and First Aid (preferred).</p><h3><strong>What We Offer&nbsp;</strong></h3><p>We provide a competitive salary and a Total Talent Rewards package designed to support our people:</p><ul><li><strong>Free JCC Membership:</strong> Access to our state-of-the-art fitness and aquatics facilities.</li><li><strong>Program Discounts:</strong> Significant discounts on early education, wellness, camping, and cultural programs.</li><li><strong>Retirement:</strong> Participation in a 403(b) defined contribution plan.</li><li><strong>Balance:</strong> Paid time off and holiday observance (for those scheduled 20+ hours/week).</li></ul><p><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\"><em>We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
