As Medical Director of Surgical Specialties, you will combine clinical expertise with strategic leadership - providing medical and surgical care while guiding physicians and care teams within your assigned clinic site(s). You will play a key role in fostering a collaborative environment, strengthening provider relationships, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional, patient-centered care.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In this role, you will provide medical leadership and clinical oversight for specialty clinic operations, supervise physicians, and partner in the development and management of departmental budgets. With vibrant cultural offerings, expansive parks, and access to outdoor destinations like the Columbia River Gorge, Cascade Mountains, and nearby coastal beaches, the region supports a healthy, balanced way of life.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>In collaboration with the Clinic Manager:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Plans and facilitates clinic and provider meetings.</li>\n   <li>Promotes service excellence. Regularly reviews customer/quality survey data   and addresses trends that are identified. </li>\n   <li>Monitors access to care, assuring that patient contact time requirements are met.</li>\n   <li>Authorizes physician/Allied Health Professional (AHP) requests for time off.</li>\n   <li>Addresses clinical and administrative issues occurring in daily clinic operation.</li>\n   <li>Oversees orientation and mentorship of new physicians/ AHPs.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Participates in medical director and leadership committee meetings.</li>\n <li>Facilitates call schedule for clinic site(s) and manages changes as appropriate for specific site(s).</li>\n <li>Helps address quality, access, and productivity concerns at site(s). In collaboration with clinics leadership, meets with site providers to develop and implement performance improvement plans when a provider isn’t meeting expectations.</li>\n <li>Promotes quality initiatives at site. Collaborates with other departments/sites as appropriate, to provide high quality continuity of care for all patients of the clinic.</li>\n <li>Models, monitors and encourages well-being for staff and Physician/ AHP colleagues.</li>\n <li>Encourages participation in Legacy Research projects.</li>\n <li>Participates in marketing and community relations to help promote clinic practice.</li>\n <li>Participates and encourages employee positive recognition program/processes.</li>\n <li>Provides input and direction for the provider compensation plan.</li>\n <li>Human Resources Management: Completes annual performance reviews for physicians employed at clinic site.  Leads and/or participates in first level performance counseling of physician/ AHPs at clinic site(s), as needed.  Clearly communicates performance and behavioral expectations to physicians/AHPs.   Participates in recruitment and hiring activities, as appropriate.  Provides clinical direction, education and support to clinic staff.</li>\n <li>Collaborates to develop and implement outpatient standards of care and policies and procedures, which meet the regulations and guidelines of appropriate government agencies and accrediting organizations.</li>\n <li>Patient Care: Provides surgical and medical care for patients of designated specialty according to employment agreement.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Graduate of a four-year accredited U.S. Medical school or equivalent. </li>\n <li>Completed approved residency in an applicable surgical specialty.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum two years clinical experience in an applicable surgical specialty.</li>\n <li>Active member in good standing of Hospital Medical Staff.</li>\n <li>Prior experience as a physician leader.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Licensure</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required</li>\n <li>Board certification in an applicable surgical specialty</li>\n <li>Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the applicable state(s)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Our Commitment to Health and Equal Opportunity</h2>\n<p>Our Legacy is good for health for Our People, Our Patients, Our Communities, Our World.
