The Marketing Research Analyst will play a key role in shaping our marketing strategy to attract new customers, increase brand recognition, and ultimately grow the company. This position reports to our Marketing Director of Marketing and is in office, located in Calgary, Alberta. RESPONSIBILITIES Segment the target audience and determine the appropriate markets to be approached Compile customers’ references and feedback and analyze the data to pull out takeaways and recommendations Prepare detailed reports on customer experience, market trends, and competitors’ outcomes Gather information and examine buyer and industry trends to help develop successful marketing plans Analyze competitive market strategies by examining the trends, markets, and products they have in common Communicate with customers, competitors, professional organizations, and suppliers in order to get information on the industry’s trends Collect business intelligence data from industry reports and partnered sources to identify market trends and economic patterns Delimit the target audience to which products or services will be sold Design questionnaires and implement surveys to identify the target audience Identify and monitor competitors and potential markets Prepare and present detailed marketing strategies and reports on key findings Provide recommendations for future tactics to leadership ATTRIBUTES You have trust in the integrity of your co-workers You care and are fully committed to everyone around you You have the confidence to challenge yourself and the courage to search for the truth You are committed to your own growth – both personally and professionally Strong verbal and written communication skills A continuous learner who is always searching for new and better ways QUALIFICATIONS   Experience Strong interest or practical experience in market research and data analysis with a marketing focus Preferred 1-2 years’ experience working in an office environment Education Holds an undergraduate degree in Business or a related field. A focus in Marketing or Business Analytics preferred. Skills Understanding of research methodology and analysis Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and survey software, as well as general CRM knowledge (preferably Microsoft Dynamics) Experience with PowerBI or other visualization software an asset Strong verbal and written communication skills Proactive, self-motivated and self-starting Flexible and able to change direction and focus with ease Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
