The duties will range from the preparation of course work, planning of classes, and the marking of work handed in. </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\">Responsibilities:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Assessing the students’ progress (e.g. homework, exam grades, etc.)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Building trusting relationships with students, parents, and other staff</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Organize classroom lectures and coursework </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Assign homework and interesting exercises</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Identify students with special requirements and create individualized plans</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Determine exam and assignment grades </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Provide feedback based on workload and classroom behavior</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Keep a record of students’ attendance and grades</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Research new language teaching methods </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Manage classroom crises and resolve conflict</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Inform parents about their children’s performance</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Collaborate with teaching staff and administrators to foster a good student experience</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Reading all prescribed novels, poetry, and additional resources to gain a thorough understanding of them before developing lesson plans and curricula.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Collaborating with other English department staff to develop lesson plans, teaching strategies, and interventions.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Preparing students for formal and informal assessments.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Grading tests, pop quizzes, assignments, exams, and other assessments, and communicating with parents, students, teachers, and counselors regarding underperformance and other concerns.</span><br></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Keeping abreast of current events and incorporating these events and themes into lessons to make them more relevant to students.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Ensuring all curriculum and school requirements are met.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Assessing student needs and providing support or extra resources to struggling students as well as exceptional achievers.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Using technology to improve lesson delivery and recordkeeping.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Expanding teacher networks and participating in workshops, lectures, and other learning opportunities.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\">Qualifications:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Bachelor’s degree in English, Literature, or a similar discipline.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Master’s degree preferred.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Relevant certification or license may be required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">A completed apprenticeship or teaching experience is recommended.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">A strong interest in literature and language.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Compassion, understanding, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The ability to multitask in a high-stress environment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Resilience and the ability to work with others.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Previous experience as an English teacher</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Knowledge of various teaching methods</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Deep understanding of the national curriculum and English language requirements</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Exceptional organizational and communication skills</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">Dedication to students and education</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0e101a; font-size: 16px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">About American Baccalaureate School:</span></p>\n<p>ABS is a private, non­-profit school offering an American-based curriculum including a wide variety of advanced courses, and a college preparatory program, guiding students to become independent, intellectual global citizens.
