Description Chaplain Spiritual support. Compassionate presence. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time Hospice Chaplain to join The Care Team Hospice. In this meaningful role, you will provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and families navigating end-of-life care while partnering closely with the interdisciplinary team to address spiritual needs, offer comfort, and support individuals of all faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds. If you are called to serve others through compassionate presence and meaningful support, The Care Team Hospice would love to welcome you to our team. Schedule, Territory, & Coverage • Standard operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM • Territory includes Midland, MI, and surrounding areas within approximately a one-hour radius based on patient census and branch needs. • Competitive hourly pay plus mileage reimbursement between patient visits. What We Offer • Opportunity to provide meaningful spiritual care • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration • Additional compensation for on-call participation • Mission-driven hospice environment Key Responsibilities • Conduct spiritual assessments • Provide spiritual counseling and support • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings • Support patients, families, and caregivers Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Divinity, Theology, Pastoral Care, Religious Studies, Counseling, Human Services, or a related field required; Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or related graduate degree preferred. • Completion of at least one (1) unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred; additional CPE units or hospice/palliative care training strongly preferred. • Previous hospice, palliative care, pastoral care, ministry, hospital, healthcare, or bereavement experience preferred. • Ability to provide compassionate spiritual and emotional support to patients and families of all faiths, beliefs, cultures, and backgrounds. • Knowledge of grief support, end-of-life care, spiritual assessments, and hospice philosophy preferred. • Ability to complete spiritual assessments and provide spiritual counseling in accordance with patient and family needs and Medicare hospice guidelines. • Ordination, ecclesiastical endorsement, or good standing with a recognized faith group preferred, if applicable to the candidate’s faith tradition. • Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively as part of an interdisciplinary hospice team. • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel within assigned territory required. • Ability to meet all field staff requirements, including successful completion of a background check, TB testing, and current CPR certification in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
