    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p style=\"margin-left:0in\"><strong>CONSTRUCTION&nbsp;SERVICES&nbsp;PRACTICE</strong></p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in\">Michael Baker International’s Construction Services staff supports clients by acting as their trusted on-site agent through all phases of construction, from pre-design to close-out, by providing qualified construction managers, inspectors, constructability reviewers, schedulers,&nbsp;estimators and safety experts. As new technologies evolve throughout the construction industry, innovative ideas are required to maintain and deliver successful construction projects.</p>\n<p><strong>What We're Looking For:</strong><br>\n Michael Baker is seeking a Transportation Assistant to join the team based in our Harrisburg, PA office. This is a field position that will work primarily at a construction site in either PennDOT Districts 2, 3, 4 or 8. Under the direct supervision of the Project Supervisor, the Transportation Assistant will monitor and document that the roadway and/or bridge project is being built in accordance with the plans and specifications.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>What You'll Do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Inspect various facets of work on a bridge or roadway construction site</li>\n <li>Take field measurements and perform calculations</li>\n <li>Prepare relevant inspection reports</li>\n <li>Verify that appropriate materials and construction processes are being used</li>\n <li>Ensure that construction conforms to the project plans, specifications, and special provisions</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What You Need to Succeed:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma or GED</li>\n <li>Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation</li>\n <li>Basic computer skills to use a tablet to document the daily activities</li>\n <li>Strong English language skills, written and verbal</li>\n <li>Ability to traverse construction sites and be outdoors in various climates</li>\n <li>Work hours vary from daylight to night work based upon contractor operations; overtime is often required</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision</li>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications</li>\n <li>Possess basic math skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>COMPENSATION</strong></p>\n<p>The approximate compensation range for this position is $20.76/hr to $24.42/hr.
