Human Resources Exemption: No Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Education Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) Experience One year (postgraduate) recognized experience in working within community mental health and addiction services. Competencies Computer skills Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge in addiction issues and mental health disorders Knowledge of best practices in harm reduction strategies Knowledge of community resources including treatment programs & support agencies Exp. in mental health & addictions community outreach & crisis interventions Knowledge in various intervention strategies for individuals and groups Ability to enter and retrieve data in computer database systems Ability to provide public presentation and professional training Ability to prepare reports in a clear, concise and timely manner. Highly developed written and oral communication skills Public relation skills with the ability to maintain effective work relationships Knowledge and practical application of the Mental Health Services Act and Health Information Protection Act and other legislation Ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting. Able to work independently in a self-motivated manner & respond under pressure Knowledge of Recovery Philosophy Cultural competency and can work effectively in multicultural environment Ability to identify, implement & evaluate areas of client difficulty Ability to formulate evidence-based intervention. Demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution skills Ability to establish workload priorities.
