Description
Overview
The Peer Recover Coach is responsible for providing support services and serving as a client advocate, for patients with substance misuse. The RC has the opportunity to positively impact clients through support and education. The RC performs a wide range of tasks to assist clients in their own journey in reaching and maintaining their own personal recovery goals. The RC is a role model of good communication skills and share their own experineces in a positive manner. The RC will serve as a member of the Eyerly Ball team and provide support and consultation to encourage and model positive behaviors with clients telephonically and in person in Story, Boone, Warren, and Polk County.
Provide a variety of services, ranging from the teaching of skills to delivery of services to providing individual and group support focused on outreach and engagement. Will develop effective working relations and cooperate with all Eyerly Ball departments throughout the entire coordination process. This role is critical to ensure continuous improvement in client care, communication, and satisfaction.

Responsibilities
Client Services: · Facilitate peer-led sessions to support clients in the substance use recovery process. · Use personal experience to build trusting professional relationships with clients. · Utilize critical thinking in making independent judgements and maintain responsibility and accountability for service provided.· Willingness to provide in person community-based services in all CCBHC counties.· Help clients overcome barriers to services which include, but are not limited to anxiety, financial deficits, transportation issues, health limitations, etc.· Connect clients to substance use services including, MATT, NA, AA, etc. · Advocacy for clients · Register clients and provide distribution of food from the food pantry.
Documentation: · Complete all documentation within established guidelines.· Ability to prioritize client needs and complete required written documentation.· Demonstrate an understanding of all grant standards.· Track and document program quality measures.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent Required.
Experience: Candidate who identifies as being in recovery from a substance use disorder and is willing to share details of their personal recovery experience. Experience navigating behavioral health and substance use systems.
License(s)/Certification(s): Have completed or will complete a state sanctioned Recovery Coach training and passed competency exam based on training. Possess a valid driver’s license, proof of auto liability insurance and a good driving record. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.Monitoring - Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.Critical Thinking - Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.Time Management - Managing one's own time and the time of others.Social Perceptiveness - Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do.Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
