    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Powell is a manufacturer of switchgear and other electrical equipment. We are seeking a Material Expeditor for our location in Southeast Houston! Four 10s schedule: Monday-Thursday 5:00am-3:30pm</p><p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p><p>The Material Expeditor position is assigned a series of commodities and/or services for which they are responsible for assuring that the requirements for these items are filled in a timely and cost-effective manner. Responsible for expediting shortages and ensuring all required items are completed to support assembly operations. Interfaces with Engineering, Scheduling, Purchasing, Shop, and Manufacturing groups.</p><p><strong>Essential Responsibilities</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 48px;\"><li>Document and track current status of all shortages for jobs on the production line.</li><li>Work closely with Purchasing, Shop and Manufacturing personnel to ensure timely delivery of shortage items.</li><li>Ensure accurate scheduling requirements are maintained within Oracle throughout the production process.</li><li>Process Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Hold for Disposition (HFD) and lost part requests in a timely and efficient manner.</li><li>Process job closing procedures in a timely fashion ensuring all discrete jobs are closed and all material is issued.</li><li>Collect and maintain data for the generation of Production Control Metrics.</li><li>Attend weekly production meetings.</li><li>Follow all safety rules on shop floor.</li></ul><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong><span><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 48px;\"><li>High school diploma or General Education Diploma.</li><li>Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing / assembly environment.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills, Abilities &amp; Other Requirements</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 48px;\"><li>Ability to read and understand MRP reports, stock status reports and customer order shortage report.</li><li>Knowledge in running queries on the Oracle database and proficient with excel.<span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></li><li>Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.</li><li>Strong analytical skills.</li><li>Good oral and written communication skills.</li><li>Good organization skills</li><li>Must be responsible and dependable.</li><li>Must have demonstrated excellent leadership skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Working &amp; Environmental Conditions</strong></p><p><strong>Working Conditions</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 48px;\"><li>Safety sensitive position in a temperature-controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.</li><li>Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) (i.e., safety shoes, hard hats, bump caps, safety glasses, hearing protection at times, safety harnesses/ fall protection equipment as required).</li><li>Must be able to work from all type of ladders (step ladders, \"A\" frame ladders continuously and / or scissor lifts while performing overhead work.</li><li>Working at heights usually no higher than 10 feet in the air on an elevated structure using proper lift equipment.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc; padding-left: 48px;\"><li>Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs or step ladders</li><li>Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction</li><li>Continuous standing and walking</li><li>Able to use upper extremities frequently, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently.</li><li>Must be able to meet physical lifting demand up to 50lbs.</li><li>Frequent use of hand tools and power tools</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>More Information</strong></p><p>This job description outlines the essential functions of the job and does not contain a comprehensive list of all possible responsibilities, tasks, and duties.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>",
