This role ensures a positive visitor experience by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment through dedicated landscaping and horticultural care.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SUPERVISION RECEIVED</span></p>\n<p>Works under the supervision of the DPW Operations Manager.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SUPERVISION EXERCISED</span></p>\n<p>None.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform detailed weeding and plant care in downtown flower beds, planters, and city-owned green spaces.</li>\n<li>Maintain the overall cleanliness and appearance of high-traffic public areas, including litter removal and debris clearing.</li>\n<li>Water and fertilize ornamental plants and flowers to ensure health and longevity.</li>\n<li>Conduct routine inspections of designated beautification areas to identify and address maintenance needs.</li>\n<li>Enforce city policies and safety regulations while performing duties in public spaces.</li>\n<li>Operate light equipment and hand tools required for horticultural upkeep and minor maintenance.</li>\n<li>Support and help coordinate city-sponsored floral displays and downtown events.</li>\n<li>All other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be at least 18 years of age.</li>\n<li>Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or grounds maintenance preferred.</li>\n<li>Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high aesthetic standards.</li>\n<li>Strong communication and problem-solving skills.</li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and interact professionally with the public.</li>\n<li>Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.</li>\n<li>Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">PHYSICAL DEMANDS</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms to complete maintenance tasks.</li>\n<li>The employee is frequently required to walk and stand for extended periods on pavement and uneven ground.</li>\n<li>The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch to access flower beds and planters.</li>\n<li>The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.</li>\n<li>Employees must be able to differentiate colors to properly maintain floral displays and landscaping designs.</li>\n</ul>",
