    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is hiring for a Scientist Associate in Richland, WA.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).</p>\n<h2>Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Responsible for conducting scientific and/or analytical studies in support of 222-S Laboratory operations and developing conventional scientific solutions to technical task activities and objectives. Performs a variety of scientific duties including, but not limited to: waste and environmental analysis, process control support and data quality, performing and/or reviewing scientific calculations/analyses, and preparing specifications, reports, and data tables.</p>\n<p>Collaborate with other technical staff to devise new approaches to scientific problems.</p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong>:</p>\n<p>Under general supervision:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform technical data reviews and prepare project summary reports.</li>\n <li>Ensure operational status of analytical equipment by maintaining calibrations and troubleshooting instrument malfunctions and data quality issues.</li>\n <li>Develop new methods and conduct method qualification studies.</li>\n <li>Participate in inter-laboratory proficiency study programs, audits, and assessments to maintain method accreditation.</li>\n <li>Provide daily work direction and training to chemical</li>\n <li>Operate under strict deadlines to plan, organize, and manage activities in assigned areas to meet Laboratory and client schedules.</li>\n <li>Author and perform reviews and systematic process improvements for assigned methods, procedures, and test</li>\n <li>Commitment to analytical excellence and unwavering ethics.</li>\n <li>Investigate scientific problems and propose solutions, alternatives, and recommendations.</li>\n <li>Assist technical staff with questions on isotopic separation and counting processes.</li>\n <li>Assist in quality standard updates for methodology.</li>\n <li>Verify and comply with scientific documentation standards and test procedures.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Minimum Requirements</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Chemistry</li>\n <li>Knowledgeable in laboratory analytical methods</li>\n <li>Strong writing skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.</p>\n<h2>Desired Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in scientific discipline and 2 years directly related radiochemistry experience or Master’s Degree (MS) or higher in scientific discipline.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated scientific communication skills and knowledge of laboratory operations and quality assurance practices.</li>\n <li>Strong skills using Microsoft Office programs (particularly Word and Excel).</li>\n <li>Demonstrated scientific knowledge radiochemistry and counting instrumentation.</li>\n <li>Nuclear facility operations experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Compensation</h2>\n<p>Grade 14: $81,168 - $94,013</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.</p>\n<h2>Company Benefits</h2>\n<p>PSI offers full-time, benefits eligible employees a competitive total compensation package that includes paid leave, and options for employer sponsored group medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, AD&D coverage, legal services, identity theft, and accident insurance.
