    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>We are seeking a <strong>Network Enginee</strong>r who will support several projects at a large federal agency.  This position will be located in Woodlawn, MD.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>In this role, the Network Engineer will:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides technical analysis in data center and cyber security network planning, engineering, and design. </li>\n <li>Provides analysis for implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to network and cyber security related problems. </li>\n <li>Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexes, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. </li>\n <li>Coordinates third-party maintenance for network equipment and troubleshoots problems with department users and department network administrators. </li>\n <li>Evaluates potential networking products, technical solutions, and capacity requirements to meet business needs. </li>\n <li>Validate enterprise-level network design, newly released equipment software and operating system for vulnerabilities and deficiencies. Makes changes to mitigate the risk. </li>\n <li>Develops advanced technological ideas and guides their development into a final product. </li>\n <li>Reviews the customer's network looking for opportunities to enhance network functionality, performance and reliability by utilizing the proven industry best-practices and architectures. </li>\n <li>Provides specifications and detail schematics for unified network architecture of the enterprise. </li>\n <li>Analyze current networking device configurations and determine implementation requirements. </li>\n <li>Develops implementation strategies, plans and processes for a nationwide rollout/upgrade of the network equipment. </li>\n <li>Develops Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for administering the monitoring and performance measurement system. </li>\n <li>Upgrade configuration of existing networking equipment to support new features and functions. </li>\n <li>Provides daily monitoring/detection of potential performance/throughput issue and develop risk mitigation solutions. </li>\n <li>Configure and maintain Virtual Private Network (VPN), Network Admission Control (NAC), Cisco Identity Service Engine (ISE), Cisco NEXUS, Cisco ASR. </li>\n <li>Provide guidance to team members and provide status metrics to Government customer and Peraton management. </li>\n <li>Provide third-level support and troubleshooting of network problems. Periodically provide after-hours and weekend support. </li>\n <li>Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Basic Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree and 16 years of relevant work experience OR a Master’s degree and 14 years of relevant work experience; OR a Ph.D. with 10 years of relevant work experience; OR High School diploma and 20 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.</li>\n <li>Cisco Certified Network Engineers must possess a Cisco CCIE or equivalent level of Cisco Certification.</li>\n <li>Possess a second CCIE or CCDE credential. Either two CCIEs or one CCIE and the CCDE is required.</li>\n <li>At least 5 years in engineering complex network systems.</li>\n <li>Extensive verifiable knowledge of Local Area Network technologies such as Ethernet, Identity Service Engine (ISE), 802.1x protocol, wireless LAN as well as the physical media and equipment associated with each.</li>\n <li>Must be able to obtain and maintain a Position of Public Trust clearance.</li>\n <li>US citizenhip or Green Card holder is required.</li>\n <li>Role is located in Woodlawn, MD and candidate must reside close for in office days.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Preferred one of the CCIE certifications to be in Security domain.</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with Cisco NXOS, Cisco ISE, SD-WAN.</li>\n <li>Prior hands on experience with Cisco networks.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Wide Area Network technologies.</li>\n <li>Understanding of network connectivity for physical and virtualized servers and Storage Area Network (SAN).</li>\n <li>Knowledge of IP routing protocols and implementations.</li>\n <li>Understanding and experience with public and private cloud networking services.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Peraton Overview</h2>\n<p>Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
