Work cooperatively with the grade-level team and attend grade-level meetings as necessary. </span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Teachers are responsible for employing a variety of teaching methods to engage different learning styles and ability levels in the classroom, demonstrating knowledge of the curriculum, encouraging an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives, backgrounds, and abilities of the students, managing behavior while eliciting a greater understanding of the world around them and maintaining a positive classroom climate. </span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold\">Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience and a teaching degree.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 112, 192); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Status of Position</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">This is a </span><span style=\"font-family: Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold\">full-time summer position</span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\"> with Académie Lafayette. This position will have orientation on </span><span style=\"color: rgb(4, 50, 255); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">June 3rd</span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">, with summer school running from </span><span style=\"color: rgb(4, 50, 255); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">June 8th - July 8th</span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">. There is no summer school, and no pay, on </span><span style=\"color: rgb(4, 50, 255); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">June 19th and July 3rd. </span><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">This is an exempt position pursuant to the U.S. Department of Labor.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 112, 192); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Reporting</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">The STEAM teacher reports to their campus/building principal.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 112, 192); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Job Duties include:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Report to your designated area before school and during dismissal.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Unless advised otherwise, your assigned classroom is your responsibility.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Lead students and participate with hands-on activities, presentations and field trips.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Monitor students to ensure compliance of summer school rules and to prevent accidents.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Prepare motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, child development and students’ varying abilities. Lesson implementation is taken into account when making plans.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Encourage an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of the students and elicits a greater understanding of the world around them with a global perspective.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Maintain accurate attendance records.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Participate in classroom field trips as scheduled.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Passion for teaching STEAM related subjects.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Create a learning environment that is positive and engaging and communicate clear expectations, routines and procedures for classwork.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Seek to actively know students’ strengths and weaknesses and respond promptly and with care to parent concerns. Communicates effectively with parents, colleagues and administrators. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Employs a variety of teaching methods to engage different learning styles and ability levels in the classroom.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Maintain substitute plans and engage substitutes in advance when needed and when possible.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 112, 192); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Bachelor’s Degree</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Hold or be eligible for Missouri Teaching Certificate or equivalent in home country.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills necessary for working in a multicultural environment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and to meet deadlines.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Ability to integrate technology into the classroom.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">French speakers are preferred, but not required.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Experience with immersion education is preferred, but not required.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 112, 192); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Attendance</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt\">Your attendance is vital for the success of our program.
