Join Kansas City's leading eye care team! At Discover Vision Centers, we believe in working together to provide the best eye care for our patients. We are currently hiring for an IT Specialist to join our ever-growing team of professionals. If you are a determined individual and want to learn from the best eye care professionals in the area, then we want to hear from you!
Requirements Adhere to policies and procedures, both regarding job duties and personnel issues. Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the practice and complies with practice policies regarding ethical business practices. Remember that the users are the primary focus and do everything to pleasantly accommodate them. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Interact well with Physicians, Management, and all co-workers as well as the ability to work as a team member. Adhere to HIPAA regulations. Essential Skills and Abilities:
Works directly with end users to provide services and help to resolve technology related problems in a timely manner, in order to eliminate downtime and ensure customer satisfaction. Collects detailed information to categorize requests, determine method of resolution and document in ticketing system. Day to day maintenance of technology related equipment including backups, administration, and hardware and software maintenance. Handles multiple project responsibilities simultaneously with the ability to prioritize work and resolve technical emergencies as they may occur. Identifies hardware/software needed to satisfy user requirements. Installs hardware and peripheral components such as computers, monitors, keyboards, printers, scanners, etc at user’s work location. Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications. Provides updates, status and completion information to manager and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in person communication. Refers major hardware/software problems to vendor/service personnel for correction and keeps records of service. Ensure efficient and economical utilization of equipment and resources. Provide for safekeeping of equipment and supplies. Record all equipment, service and warranties in ticketing system. Administers Synergy, VMWare, Xenapp, Holladay, telephone and Kronos systems. Troubleshoot technical issues related to data flow and integration of biomed equipment with the network. Create documentation in ticketing system for future reference, training and support purposes. Communicate with users to clarify data format requirements for biomed equipment. Provides programming, support and maintenance of voice mail systems and phone equipment. Maintain an adequate level of knowledge of operating systems and application software being used to provide high-level support to users. Monitors and reports drive space weekly, to ensure adequate space is available at all times. Performs and documents software updates to servers and workstations. Addresses backup issues after a failed backup. Shares after hours duties with other individuals within the Information Technology department. Performs other duties as required. This is an in-office position. Hours: Mon-Friday 8am-5pm.
