Description
ModCorr offers rapid, efficient delivery and setup of minimum to maximum security correctional facilities and specialty units. All products are constructed offsite in a controlled environment and conform to the same building codes as traditional construction. ModCorr’s safe, secure and high-quality units comply with all American Correctional Association (ACA) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
The SEC Technician builds, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, pneumatics and components. Likely to be required to travel to various locations both long-term and short-term assignments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Apply knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and apply skills in restoring equipment to operation. Install and integrate security control systems: access control, video surveillance, audio systems, door monitoring and duress systems. Read blueprints, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for systems build. Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions. Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment. Install/adjust/replace new, defective or improperly functioning devices. Understanding of Class 1 and Class 2 devices and wiring codes. Testing of electronics, using standard testing equipment to analyze and evaluate performance. Develop understanding and take part in Field Quality Control and Quality assurance Various types of cable installations and terminations. Lift up to 50lbs. Communicate regularly and effectively as appropriate. Adhere to ALL safety protocols Maintain the standards, culture and values of the Company Take part in Toolbox talks, pre-task planning and daily reports. Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Required:
High school diploma or GED required 3 years of related experience or equivalent education preferred OSHA-10 certification required
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis. Frequent walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching throughout the shift. Manual dexterity for handling tools, equipment, and materials. Ability to climb ladders or stairs and work at varying heights as needed. Ability to travel, if needed.
