Description

Overview Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate or Clinical Professor, Palliative Care, on the Full Time Clinical Faculty pathway with an approximate 80:20 contribution to clinical service and academic pursuits. The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and the University of Washington (UW) are jointly recruiting a full-time clinical faculty member specializing in care of patients in palliative care. This position will be at the Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate, or Clinical Professor level commensurate with experience and qualifications in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutch and an appropriate Division at the UW depending on training and specialty. Fred Hutch and UW faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. The position will focus primarily on ambulatory clinical care of patients receiving palliative care at a world-renowned comprehensive cancer center. The Palliative Care team is committed to providing outstanding patient care, advanced by cutting edge research trials. The position may also involve participation in the administrative, research, and instructional activities of the Clinical Research Division. Teaching responsibilities involve oversight of trainees during outpatient and inpatient clinical activities, and lectures. The position will be based at the South Lake Union main campus, but there is the possibility that the incumbent could see patients at one of Fred Hutch’s community clinics. Additionally, the selected candidate will be expected to recruit and care for trial patients. The primary, annual appointment will be in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch. The position will report to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of the Clinical Research Division at Fred Hutch and the Division Head of Hematology and Oncology. Fred Hutch is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington. With a track record of global leadership in bone marrow transplantation, HIV/AIDS prevention, immunotherapy and COVID-19 vaccines, Fred Hutch has earned a reputation as one of the world’s leading cancer, infectious disease and biomedical research centers. Fred Hutch operates eight clinical care sites that provide medical oncology, infusion, radiation, proton therapy and related services, and network affiliations with hospitals in five states. Pay for Faculty positions is based on a variety of factors, including degree, specialty, clinical practice and experience. This position is eligible for relocation assistance and/or sign-on bonus.
