The position involves teaching assigned courses, assessing student learning outcomes, and contributing to the academic mission of the University through excellence in teaching and student engagement.</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities</strong></h3><p>&bull; None.</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Duties/Responsibilities</strong></h3><p>&bull; Teach undergraduate courses in English Composition.<br>&bull; Prepare and deliver course materials in alignment with departmental and University standards.<br>&bull; Assess student learning outcomes and provide timely, constructive feedback.<br>&bull; Maintain appropriate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.<br>&bull; Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.<br>&bull; Communicate effectively with students and departmental colleagues.<br>&bull; Willingness to teach online sections of the course, if necessary.<br>&bull; Attend departmental meetings and trainings as required.</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Required Skills/Abilities</strong></h3><p>&bull; Demonstrated excellence in classroom instruction.<br>&bull; Strong verbal and written communication skills.<br>&bull; Ability to create engaging and inclusive learning experiences.<br>&bull; Proficient in the use of instructional technology and standard office software.</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Education and Experience</strong></h3><p>&bull; Earned an advanced degree from an accredited university in English, Composition, or a closely related discipline.<br>&bull; Minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline.<br>&bull; At least two years of teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></h3><p>&bull; Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while instructing.<br>&bull; Manual dexterity to efficiently operate a computer keyboard and other instructional or office equipment.<br>&bull; Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone.</p><h3><br></h3><h3><strong>Important Note</strong></h3><p>This is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and/or skills required for this position.
