ERP is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability and Veteran.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Schedule:</strong></p>\n<p>Monday - Friday  0600-1800 - 8.5 hour shifts</p>\n<p>No Holidays, No on call, or Weekends!</p>\n<p><strong>Core Duties:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF.  </li>\n <li>Direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of other health care professionals within the scope of the clinical privileges or responsibilities.  </li>\n <li>Examine, diagnose, treat or prescribe courses of treatment within the scope of training, experience, and privileges.  </li>\n <li>Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physical, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.   Order diagnostic tests as applicable as well as request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.  </li>\n <li>Technically proficient in directing and teaching other medical staff, providing educational lectures and participating in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to Government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Additional Core Duties:</u></strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide full range of Internal Medicine services including, but not limited to, examination, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of adults, usually 1 8 years of age or older. (e. g., oversee and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving all organ systems, provide immunization prescriptions and diagnosis, treat, and counsel patients as indicated.) </li>\n <li>Participate in the Graduate Medical Education program.  Precept interns and residents, including reviewing and co-signing notes. Work with medical students when needed during clinic hours. </li>\n <li>Independently formulates full treatment plans based on sound evaluation and diagnoses consistent with current and/or evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. </li>\n <li>Examines diagnoses and treats illness and diseases related to internal medicine of patients </li>\n <li>empaneled to the Clinic. Care provided includes a broad spectrum of health services ranging from promoting preventative and health maintenance care, stresses positive health behaviors and self-care through education and counseling to treatment of acute and chronic diseases </li>\n <li>Provides a variety of professional medical services to authorized beneficiaries of the outpatient clinic. Provides long-term comprehensive care managing both common and complex illnesses. Due to the possible lack of consistent medical specialty support, it may be required to provide some sub-specialty services within current granted privileges to patients encountered. </li>\n <li>Applies new procedures in the evaluation and treatment of complex patient cases and performs emergency services or crisis intervention, including life-saving emergency procedures when necessary. </li>\n <li>Examines and conducts thorough evaluation of presenting patients utilizing laboratory and clinical findings to appropriately treat or refer the patient to the appropriate specialty clinic. </li>\n <li>Act as Primary care manager in the internal medicine clinic incorporates an understanding of disease prevention, wellness, substance abuse, mental health and common health problems. </li>\n <li>Provides first contact, continuous, comprehensive primary care for adults according to current standards of care, the patient centered medical home model of care, DHA policy, and relevant regulations </li>\n <li>Collaborates with specialists in other areas on cases with complex and multifaceted problems. Renders urgent treatment and hospitalizes patients as required. Can competently manage problems in an outpatient clinic setting. </li>\n <li>Performance of duties is characterized by a high level of diagnostic skill and ingenuity, the exercise of independent judgment and making of authoritative decisions as to courses of normal and/or emergency treatment procedures and need for referrals.  </li>\n <li>Thoroughly examine patients, studies case history and, as necessary, requests laboratory tests and x-rays. Requests electrocardiograms and interprets when needed. Based on findings, prescribes care and treatment. </li>\n <li>Administers or prescribes drugs and narcotics as needed. Requests return visits to clinic as required to check progress of patient, for the receipt of immunizations and antibiotics, or for additional laboratory and clinical examinations and tests </li>\n <li>Serves as specialist in General Internal Medicine to medical officers attending patients whose condition indicates a possible diagnosis of an internal medicine condition or whose condition presents difficulty in diagnosis or treatment. </li>\n <li>May perform minor surgical procedures </li>\n <li>Provides expertise in specialty areas and thus provides consultant services to other clinic personnel within the context of the general ambulatory care provided by the primary care clinics.  </li>\n <li>Exercises independent judgment with full responsibility for professional diagnosis, treatment, referral, and disposition of patients. </li>\n <li>Completes required records (both paper and electronic) pertaining to all medical services provided in accordance with specified procedures and regulations. Properly safeguards all reports and records according to the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards. </li>\n <li>Maintains credentials in compliance with DHA standards and requirements. Performs procedures for which credentialing has been delineated. </li>\n <li>Performs administrative duties inherent to clinical activities. </li>\n <li>Ensures the highest standards of professional practice and ethics are maintained. </li>\n <li>Participates in continuing medical education. Attends and participates in clinical and administrative staff meetings. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Degree:</strong> Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).  </li>\n <li><strong>Education:</strong> Graduation from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA), graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or graduation from a medical school with evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification.  </li>\n <li><strong>Certification:</strong> The DoD only recognizes certifications issued by boards that are members of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the AOA Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists  </li>\n <li><strong>Internship/Residency/Fellowship:</strong> Completion of an accredited residency approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).  </li>\n <li><strong>Experience:</strong> As required to meet clinical competency requirements specified in the credentialing instructions.  </li>\n <li><strong>Licensure:</strong> Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of California.</li>\n <li><strong>Life Support Certification:</strong> Possess a current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Pay Scale: <em>$147/hr to $204/hr, to be determined based on employment options (W2/1099), qualifications, experience, and location</em></p>\n<p> </p>",
