Description

Overview As a Steampunk Business Analyst/Scrum Master , you will support Agile software delivery teams by facilitating Scrum practices, driving requirements analysis, and coordinating delivery activities to ensure successful outcomes. This role operates at the intersection of business analysis, Agile facilitation, and delivery coordination—helping teams translate mission needs into actionable work while maintaining alignment, momentum, and accountability.You will partner closely with Product Owners, developers, designers, and stakeholders to ensure requirements are well-defined, priorities are clear, and teams are positioned to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently. Contributions Responsibilities include: Facilitate Agile practices and support the execution of Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements, including user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, and acceptance criteria. Collaborate with stakeholders and product teams to decompose epics into features and user stories that are clear, testable, and ready for development. Partner with Product Owners to support backlog refinement, prioritization, and delivery planning. Coordinate team-level delivery activities, helping ensure alignment across priorities, dependencies, and timelines. Apply facilitation techniques to lead workshops, working sessions, and stakeholder discussions that drive shared understanding and decision-making. Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements for development and QA teams. Identify, track, and help resolve risks, issues, and impediments, escalating as appropriate to maintain delivery progress. Support stakeholder communication by providing visibility into team progress, risks, and delivery outcomes. Foster team accountability, self-organization, and continuous improvement within an Agile environment. Help teams manage time effectively, minimize distractions, and maintain focus on committed work. Contribute to the development of team-level roadmaps, release plans, and delivery timelines in collaboration with Product Owners and stakeholders. Leverage organizational best practices and tools to improve team capacity, delivery effectiveness, and overall performance. Qualifications Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 4+ years of experience working in Agile environments, including experience as a Scrum Master and/or Business Analyst using Scrum and/or Kanban methodologies. Demonstrated experience eliciting, documenting, and validating business requirements, including user stories, functional and non-functional requirements, and acceptance criteria. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, quality assurance, UX, and business stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to translate complex business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements. Experience supporting Agile delivery, including backlog management, sprint planning, and release coordination. Ability to establish credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence rather than authority. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and support delivery across competing demands. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Experience working in a studio or human-centered design environment. Scrum Master certifications a plus. Experience supporting delivery coordination responsibilities within Agile teams a plus. Familiarity with Agile tools a plus. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $150,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
