    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>This Opportunity&nbsp;</strong></p><p>WSP is currently initiating a search for an <strong>Early Careers Assistant Acoustic Consultant </strong>for our<strong> Los Angeles, CA</strong> office. &nbsp;In this position, staff will be involved in projects with our Property &amp; Buildings Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Responsibilities include:</strong></p><ul><li>Development of initial, project-specific Acoustic design goals/concepts</li><li>Development of architectural, mechanical, and structural solutions to achieve project design goals</li><li>Calculations of HVAC system noise and Reverberation Time</li><li>Periodic review of project drawings &amp; specifications throughout design for incorporation of acoustic design elements</li><li>Survey and evaluation of existing acoustic conditions</li><li>Three-dimensional acoustic modeling</li><li>Construction Administration / Site Observations</li><li>Report preparation to communicate design &amp; construction recommendations to clients and end users</li><li>Attend client meetings</li><li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures</li><li>Uphold workplace safety and have the ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Minimum Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Acoustics, Audio Technology, or similar degree with coursework in architectural acoustics.</li><li>0-1 years of professional acoustical analysis and design consulting experience.</li><li>Working knowledge of acoustic design metrics, and their application in architectural, communications systems, and mechanical systems design.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software.</li><li>Client focus, with a commitment to quality and problem solving.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Advanced (Masters or Doctorate) degree in Architectural Acoustics, Audio Technology, or similar degree.</li><li>Previous experience in building design, including interior room acoustics, sound isolation, HVAC systems noise &amp; vibration control, as well as field measurement experience.</li><li>Working knowledge of applicable ISO, ASTM, and ANSI standards related to acoustical measurement, analysis, and modeling, including international standards.</li><li>Knowledge of HVAC noise and/or Sound Transmission modeling software such as V-A Select, Potorff AIM, INSUL, and other proprietary modeling software.</li><li>Knowledge of 3D modeling software such as EASE, CATT-Acoustic, Odeon, SoundPlan, CadnaA, etc.</li><li>Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit.</li><li>Audiovisual system design experience.</li><li>Certification and/or membership in professional organizations is a plus.</li><li>Understanding of binaural/ambisonic recording and playback.</li><li>Understanding of acoustic simulation e.g. raytracing, convolutional reverberation, early reflections.</li><li>Understanding of audio engineering/mixing/mastering, video game audio design, and integrating audio plugins into VR scenes.</li></ul><p>WSP Benefits:&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-bottom: 12pt; margin-right: 0in; margin-top: 0in;\">WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.
