POSITION SUMMARY
The Supervisor, Electrical and Plant Operations assumes responsibility to manage the shift to shift operations of the department associated with the direct operations of the Central Utility Plant (CUP), Central Electrical Plant (CEP), hospital, and off site facilities as needed. They will maintain, repair, and install electrical equipment throughout the hospital and supporting facilities (CUP, CEP, SSB, and parking facilities as needed). The Supervisor, Electrical Plant Operations oversees maintenance teams, manages installations, repairs, and maintenance of electrical systems, and ensures compliance with safety codes and project timelines. The Supervisor, Electrical Plant Operations provides high quality work in a safe environment. The Supervisor, Electrical Plant Operations aids to develop staff; they plan, schedule, and inspect work, troubleshoot complex issues, and manage resources, collaborates with multidisciplinary professionals; and provides service excellence. This individual remains competent in the area of practice and is able to take on staff assignments as needed.
The Supervisor, Electrical and Plant Operations assists the Manager Facilities Services with but not limited to:
On and Off –Site operations, delegating tasks to electrical and maintenance staff, assuring projects and work orders are completed efficiently and safely Providing motivation and assistance when necessary Workforce planning; and development. Establishing and implementing standards for practice and maintain authority, accountability and responsibility for staff in their area of responsibility; The ongoing support and cultivation of a culture of shared decision making; Budgeting and planning and goal setting. Ensuring safe and compliant facilities
Supervises the (CEP), (CUP) and hospital operations staff: Provides general direction, organization, monitoring, and supervision for hospital and off site facility maintenance operations. Provides technical assistance to the facility manager and spot-checks work completed by maintenance teams and contractors frequently and reviews work for safety, compliance, neatness, cleanliness, efficiency and overall results.

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; specialized training in related field preferred. May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education. Diploma, or degree in Electrical Engineering preferred. Within one (1) year of hire /transfer, successfully completes The American Society of Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), NFPA-99, “Healthcare Facilities Code”, Certificate of Attendance. Annually achieves Continued Education Credits (CECs) until (ASHE), NFPA-101-2012, “Life Safety Code”, Certificate of Attendance is completed. Experience:
5+ years of facilities experience preferred, including experience with medium (12,470 volts) and low voltage electrical systems. Supervisory experience preferred. Minimum of 5 years of electrician experience in industrial, institutional or healthcare facilities. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Ability to lead, motivate and focus the team while tracking progress Leverage data and draws conclusions on how to best evolve operations to improve metrics through goal setting Ability to identify and assess a problem and develop ideas for resolution Capability to actively participate in the annual operating and capital budgeting process, monitoring budget performances on a monthly basis Aptitude to work with high, medium and low voltage systems including Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), generators and transformers, experienced with plant operations and industrial boilers. Demonstrates knowledge and has experience with medium (12,470 volts) and low voltage electrical systems, including breakers, transformers, unit substations, switchboards, and starters, variable speed drives, and is able to demonstrate this knowledge in both oral and written format. Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot equipment failures using schematics and diagnostic tools specific to the trade. Has working knowledge of low voltage systems such as fire alarm, nurse call bells, intercom, access control, TV, and other similar systems. Complies with all Local, State, and Federal codes to maintain a safe work environment. Leads relationships with AHJ’s regarding electric regulations, codes, and standards. When work priorities demand, performs work other than specialty as required or assigned. Responsible for the completion of all service work order assignments in a timely fashion. Performs any and all other duties related to facility maintenance as deemed necessary by Management that is in the best interest of the hospital, its patients, staff, and visitors Oversees staff installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining hospital and off-site building systems, including mechanical, and electrical. Daily reviews and tracks work orders and ensures work follows established service and quality standards for completion. Issue resolution for work orders. Schedules and supervises preventative maintenance. Maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws. May coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades. Electrical supervisor provides resources as needed to complete maintenance work orders, trouble call work orders, preventative maintenance work orders and maintenance repairs assigned to the staff. Advises on central plant equipment, HVAC, building operation and equipment projects with manager. NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs related and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

"ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong><u>POSITION SUMMARY</u></strong></p><p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.1pt;\">The Supervisor, Electrical and Plant Operations assumes responsibility to manage the shift to shift operations of the department associated with the direct operations of the Central Utility Plant (CUP), Central Electrical Plant (CEP), hospital, and off site facilities as needed. They will maintain, repair, and install electrical equipment throughout the hospital and supporting facilities (CUP, CEP, SSB, and parking facilities as needed). The Supervisor, Electrical Plant Operations oversees maintenance teams, manages installations, repairs, and maintenance of electrical systems, and ensures compliance with safety codes and project timelines. The Supervisor, Electrical Plant Operations provides high quality work in a safe environment. The Supervisor, Electrical Plant Operations </span><span style=\"background-color: white;\">aids to develop staff; they plan, schedule, and inspect work, troubleshoot complex issues, and manage resources, collaborates with multidisciplinary professionals; and provides service excellence. </span><span style=\"letter-spacing: -0.1pt;\">This individual remains competent in the area of practice and is able to take on staff assignments as needed.</span></p><p><span style=\"color: black;\">The Supervisor, Electrical and Plant Operations assists the Manager Facilities Services with but not limited to:</span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span style=\"color: black;\">On and Off –Site operations, delegating tasks to electrical and maintenance staff, assuring projects and work orders are completed efficiently and safely</span></li><li><span style=\"color: black;\">Providing motivation and assistance when necessary</span></li><li><span style=\"color: black;\">Workforce planning; and development.</span></li><li><span style=\"color: black;\">Establishing and implementing standards for practice and maintain authority, accountability and responsibility for staff in their area of responsibility;</span></li><li>The ongoing support and cultivation of a culture of shared decision making;</li><li>Budgeting and planning and goal setting.</li><li>Ensuring safe and compliant facilities</li></ul><p> </p><p><span>Supervises the (CEP), (CUP) and hospital operations staff: Provides general direction, organization, monitoring, and supervision for hospital and off site facility maintenance operations.
