Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts&#39; total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.</p><p><br /><b>Hourly pay range</b>: $20 - $30 DOE</p><p></p><p><u><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</b></u></p><ul><li><p>Recruit, organize, and manage program coaching staff including staff scheduling, performance planning, and evaluation.</p></li><li><p>Assist to hire, train, manage Big Mountain Team administration staff within budget, promote efficiency, and keep workload manageable</p></li><li><p>Provide leadership of daily training for program participants.</p></li><li><p>Communicate effectively with parents and athletes.</p></li><li><p>Prepare and implement technical teaching progressions, methodologies and content for daily training for athletes in conjunction with Program Senior Manager/Director.</p></li><li><p>Set and maintain courses and closures, following course setting standards of the IFSA and RMFSA</p></li><li><p>Have high standards for safety in all training environments.</p></li><li><p>Assure that all facilities and equipment are properly maintained and stored.</p></li><li><p>Video and conduct video analysis sessions with participants on a regular basis.</p></li><li><p>Conduct athlete goal setting meetings at start of year, review throughout season, and at the end of the season.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate team travel to Big Mountain events and other local, regional and national competitions.</p></li><li><p>Responsible for athlete supervision, van transportation, team captain’s meeting representation, accommodation, lodging check in/out, and on-hill coaching duties at these events.</p></li><li><p>Provide positive feedback on a daily basis to participants and submit written mid-season and year-end evaluations on each participant.</p></li><li><p>Assist athletes and their families in obtaining equipment from ski manufacturers’ representatives.</p></li><li><p>Conduct program orientations for parents and athletes</p></li><li><p>Participate in coaches meetings, briefings, and other professional functions as directed by Freestyle/Freeskiing Senior Manager/Director.</p></li><li><p>Provide regular feedback and evaluations to Big Mountain coaching staff.</p></li><li><p>Plan for spring, summer and fall on and off snow ski and conditioning camps and dry land activities in conjunction with the Freestyle/ Freeskiing Senior Manager/Director and Sports Performance Manager.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Other duties:</b></p><ul><li><p>Maintain a friendly, congenial and helpful attitude while effectively dealing with athletes, parents, guests and employees.</p></li><li><p>Report any unsafe conditions which may affect athlete, employee or public safety</p></li><li><p>Attend weekly Competition Center director meetings and bring forth program issues</p></li><li><p>Enforce athlete code-of-conduct and hold self, staff, and athletes to the highest standard of behavior</p></li><li><p>Address any breach of conduct immediately and inform/involve other staff members as necessary</p></li><li><p>Must wear radio during all training sessions</p></li><li><p>Must wear uniform at all times while coaching and during work hours</p></li></ul><p></p><p><u><b>QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS</b></u></p><ul><li><p>IFSA coaches certification level I</p></li><li><p>3-5 years coaching experience</p></li><li><p>Administrative experience of a full-time ski program or previous experience as a head or full-time coach</p></li><li><p>Current knowledge of IFSA and RMFSA rules and competitive coaching experience is desirable.</p></li><li><p>A high school diploma or equivalent is also essential.</p></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><u><b>TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: </b></u></p><p>Position will require travel to IFSA regional, National and Nor Am competitions throughout the season.</p><p></p><p><u><b>PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS </b></u></p><p></p><p><b>Mountain Environment:</b></p><ul><li><p>The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...</p></li><li><p>The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.</p></li><li><p>Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.</p></li><li><p>Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude.  Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products.
