Reporting to the Advisor, Water Resources and Treatment, the Water Management and Treatment Engineer provides technical leadership and subject‑matter expertise to support current operation and development projects across Agnico Eagle’s portfolio. The role focuses on water treatment design studies, and management of water related risk to mine project and sites, water quality, and environmental performance from early‑stage studies through construction and operations. Operating within the Technical Services group, the role ensures consistent application of leading practices, supports project evaluation teams in assessing best water management strategy, water quality forecast, water treatment, and contributes to appropriate environmental inputs to mine planning, permitting, environmental monitoring during operations, and closure strategies.
More specifically, you will be required to:
Support Studies and Mine Development: Provide detail study for water treatment and water management strategy to advanced exploration, PEA, PFS studies, FS and construction phase;
Ensure, testwork programs and study scopes are aligned with the AEM internal guidelines;
Manage consulting companies and laboratory testwork; perform test work in the laboratory and in the field as needed;
Interpret or confirm interpretation of geochemical data to feed water quality forecast;
Support integration of water balance and quality forecast modeling tools into studies for site infrastructure design, tailings strategy and closure concepts.
Assess water related Risks and Propose Management Options:
Identify and assess water related risk including water volume, contaminant, and emerging contaminants;
Review conceptual water balance and quality models;
Recommend mitigation, segregation, blending strategies in collaboration with study and construction teams;
Develop monitoring strategies during operations.
Collaborate :
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams within technical services, and with permitting and closure teams;
Support corporate technical standards and best practices documentation related to water stewardship;
With consulting companies, manage scope of work and bidding processes;
Collaborate with innovation group in water related initiatives.
Support Operations:
Provide technical support and expertise to operations when needed for water treatment including commissioning, ORP, operation support.

Mobility and Bilingualism:
Available to travel to Canada, Finland, Australia, and Mexico;
Fluency in French and English is essential for collaborating with Agnico Eagle%27s sites.

Knowledge of water regulations (Canadian and Provincial);
