We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and participate in E-Verify. </p>\n<h2>About this Role</h2>\n<p>Probst Electric is looking for a Traveling Mechanic to repair and maintain utility construction equipment, such as derricks, shovels, tractors, lo-drill, heavy trucks, excavators, and wire pulling equipment. Fabrication and welding may be included in duties along with any other tasks as assigned.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This role will begin in Texas and is expected to remain in the area for an extended period. <strong>Travel throughout Texas will be required up to 100% of the time.</strong></p>\n<h2>What You'll Do</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.</li>\n <li>Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.</li>\n <li>Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.</li>\n <li>Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.</li>\n <li>Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.</li>\n <li>Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.</li>\n <li>Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.</li>\n <li>Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.</li>\n <li>Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.</li>\n <li>Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Bring</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Willingness to travel nationwide </li>\n <li>2-5 years of unsupervised heavy equipment mechanic experience (we will consider applicants without experience if they have some type of formal training)</li>\n <li>Fabrication and welding experience preferred</li>\n <li>Ability to work long hours and move/lift at least 50 lbs.</li>\n <li>Valid Class A Commercial Driver License</li>\n <li>Compliance with OSHA and other Federal, State, and local safety regulations.</li>\n <li>Valid DOT Medical Certification</li>\n <li>Heavy equipment mechanic certification preferred</li>\n <li>Pass pre-employment and other drug screening requirements</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What You'll Get</h2>\n<p><strong>We Offer</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Earn top‑tier wages</strong> with additional <strong>per diem and travel pay</strong> when eligible.</li>\n <li><strong>Enjoy exceptional benefits</strong>, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a <strong>401(k) with a strong company match</strong>. </li>\n <li>Be part of an <strong>industry‑leading safety culture</strong>, strengthened by <strong>Quanta Services’ unwavering commitment to safety</strong> and its world‑class national training network.</li>\n <li>Access <strong>unlimited career growth opportunities</strong> and advance your future within the expansive <strong>Quanta family of companies</strong>.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<strong>Please Note:</strong> We are not engaging with external recruiters or agencies for this role.
