BR+A provides state-of-the-art integrated and coordinated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection consulting engineering, technology systems design, lighting design, and building commissioning services.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">BR+A is seeking an experienced Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer for our Los Angeles, CA office. This role will be responsible for designing Fire Protection and Plumbing systems for a variety of projects and other tasks such as performing field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects, coordinating with other disciplines, overseeing deliverables to and from clients, and developing hydraulic calculations for systems.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>The ideal candidate should have the following skills:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Experience designing Fire Protection and Plumbing systems for Healthcare, Higher Education, and Laboratory projects</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Proficient in Auto CAD and Revit</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Familiar with specification writing</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Good understanding of engineering concepts, design, and spatial requirements</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Able to think three-dimensionally</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Thorough knowledge of CA plumbing code, model codes and NFPA</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Knowledge of Fire Protection systems including wet, dry and specialty systems</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Understand work planning and managing the design process to the available hours in the work plan</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Capable of meeting and working with clients, owners, and contractors</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Taking ownership of assignments, working both independently and as part of the project team</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">A positive attitude, results-driven and team-oriented</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Able to manage time to meet deadlines</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Position Requirements:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">EIT license required</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">PE and CPD licenses preferred</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">8-10 years of relevant experience in designing Plumbing and Fire Protection for Healthcare, Higher Education, and Laboratory projects</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">BR+A is a place to learn, to grow, to work hard for clients that matter &ndash; and to be part of something bigger.
