For more information on Citizens of the World Charter Schools – Kansas City, please visit </span><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 128, 0); font-size: 10pt\"><a href=\"https://www.cwckansascity.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.cwckansascity.org</a>.</span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\"> </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 128, 0); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Develop curriculum, units of study, and lessons that meet or exceed requirements of the Missouri Learning Standards Art Grade-Level Expectations and reflect a commitment to integration across other areas of learning from the core and enrichment curriculum</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Complete and submit lesson plans in a timely manner</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Sustain an active and joyous learning culture in Art classes that reflects CWC Kansas City’s social-emotional learning focus and contributes to the broader school community.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Observe, reflect, and assess student growth and development, both individually and across grade levels, with two goals: 1) ensuring student awareness, skills development, and appreciation of Art, and 2) continually developing and </span>improving the Art program.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Contribute to the completion of student progress reports in the fall and spring; assist with the scheduling changes throughout conference week.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Support school programming and processes as assigned.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Participate in professional development activities, both internal (led by the principal, lead teachers and visiting experts) and external (visiting other schools, attending conferences, and engaging in best practice sharing with others in the charter school community, etc.).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Maintain frequent, respectful, sensitive, and effective communication with students, students’ families, colleagues, and other school stakeholders.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Demonstrate a high-level of professionalism including meeting deadlines, and commitments to self, students, and the community.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(56, 118, 29); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications &amp; Traits</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">The ideal Art Teacher will have: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">A bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and appropriate Missouri Art Teacher Certification</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Experience working with diverse populations, including English language learners and students with special needs</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Experience organizing and managing a student-centered learning environment that includes age-appropriate, culturally-responsive management practices</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">An exhibited ability to work with children in a caring and respectful manner in order to create a joyful, caring classroom environment where instructional time includes community building, conflict resolution, skill-building, and empowering students to be peacemakers and agents for positive social change   </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Excellent communication/interpersonal skills as well as a desire to collaborate with colleagues to help develop a strong school community</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Willingness to explore additional school responsibilities (before/after school care and classes, committee involvement, etc.); stipends may be available for such responsibilities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Maturity, humility, strong work ethic, sense of humor, and a can-­</span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">‐</span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">do attitude</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Fluency in Spanish is preferred</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(56, 118, 29); font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Compensation &amp; Benefits</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt; font-style: italic\">This role is placed on the “A:  Entry,” “B:  Bachelor’s,” “M:  Master’s,” or “D:  Doctorate/Ed.S.”  as appropriate.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">CWC Kansas City offers competitive salaries commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefits package.  CWC Kansas City is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or veteran status.</span><br></p>",
