In this role, you will design, implement, test, trace, and troubleshoot infrastructure and platform-level services — including <strong>OpenStack services, Kubernetes services, and database services</strong> — while ensuring quality, performance, and scalability. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the evolution of our cloud and bare metal platforms.</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0cm;\">This position is ideal for a software engineer with strong <strong>Linux OS, networking, and Kubernetes</strong> expertise who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and delivering high-quality solutions.</p>\n<p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot</strong> services running on OpenStack or bare metal infrastructure.</li>\n <li>Optimize <strong>automation workflows</strong> and enhance infrastructure <strong>performance</strong>.</li>\n <li>Investigate and resolve complex technical issues both <strong>independently</strong> and in <strong>collaboration</strong> with peers.</li>\n <li>Provide <strong>technical leadership</strong> and share expertise to elevate the entire FIO team.</li>\n <li>Partner with developers to identify and resolve defects, ensuring <strong>high-quality deliverables</strong>.</li>\n <li>Automate testing and system monitoring using <strong>Bash</strong> or <strong>Python</strong> scripting.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>10+ years</strong> of software development experience in a <strong>Linux environment</strong>.</li>\n <li>Extensive <strong>Linux networking</strong> knowledge and hands-on experience.</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of <strong>Kubernetes</strong> and containerization technologies.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in <strong>Go</strong> or <strong>C/C++</strong>, with deep Linux system-level expertise.</li>\n <li>Strong <strong>Bash/Python</strong> scripting skills.</li>\n <li>Proven track record of <strong>designing, prototyping, and implementing</strong> major features in large-scale <strong>cloud services</strong>.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues <strong>logically and analytically</strong>, producing clear debugging reports.</li>\n <li>Excellent <strong>written and verbal communication</strong> skills.</li>\n <li><strong>Bachelor’s degree</strong> in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline (<strong>Master’s degree preferred</strong>).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Nice to Have</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with <strong>eBPF</strong> development.</li>\n <li>Broader knowledge of commonly used <strong>databases</strong>, <strong>message queues</strong>, and <strong>monitoring stacks</strong>.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The Canada base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be between $117,500 - $143,700 annually.&nbsp; Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labour market, job type, and job level.&nbsp; Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, and experience.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Fortinet strives to provide you and your family with a comprehensive benefits package.
