Responsibilities What you'll be able to do… Software Test Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the anticipated worksite. Build the testing tools and approaches that will deliver high quality software and services to Ford’s customers. Test vehicle support services, applications, and tools for Ford’s customers and sales or support operations staff. Design, plan, implement, and execute test methods and automation scripts for product risk assessment purposes at multiple integration or solution levels. Participate in incident triage, contributing to risk assessment definition, perform root cause analysis, and design preventative actions. Work on problems of moderate to large scope and complexity where further analysis is required and collaborate with team members on reducing complexity. Understand, apply Ford standards and tools for software delivery and contribute with mentorship and coaching to colleagues by leveraging experience in testing tools and strategies. Products and services tested cover remote vehicle tracking systems and interfaces relating to connected vehicle software and firmware. Qualifications You'll have… Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Utilizing Python, JavaScript, Java, and test automation tools, platforms, and frameworks including Selenium and TestRail. 2. Utilizing software testing concepts and methodologies, including unit, functional, regression, system, performance, load, stress, database, scenario, cross-browser, database, deployment, testability, pairwise, and operations testing. 3. Writing clear and concise test plans, designs, and specifications. 4. Testing microservices and distributed systems, large-scale, high-availability web services, product and services APIs, databases and data pipelines, testing via application observability and monitoring, providing on call support for production applications. 5. Remote Vehicle telemetry APIs. 6. Connected vehicle diagnostics including OBD-II, CAN, IP Vehicular networking and vehicular network architecture.
