The teacher is hired by and is directly accountable to the principal. &nbsp;The teacher agrees to abide by the educational policies and procedures of the Diocese of Orlando and the Office of Catholic Schools, as well as comply with the educational policies and procedures of the local school. &nbsp;The teacher cooperates with the principal and staff in providing an educational environment that promotes the ministry of Catholic education.</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;<u><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></u>&nbsp;</p><ul><li>Teaches and acts in accordance with Catholic doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church.</li><li>Understands and appropriately teaches the curriculum of the Diocese of Orlando.</li><li>Works with administrators and instructional teams to plan and implement hands-on lesson plans for students.&nbsp;</li><li>Utilizes a variety of instructional techniques to meet the individual needs of students.&nbsp;</li><li>Assesses student progress in accordance with the approved procedures of the Diocese of Orlando</li><li>Utilizes classroom management techniques conducive to an effective classroom climate.&nbsp;</li><li>Participates in the Diocese of Orlando Diocesan Catechist Certification Program and in the school-sponsored professional development programs.&nbsp;</li><li>Cooperates with the principal and staff members in school-related meetings, activities and projects.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains accurate student academic records and attendance records.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains a safe, orderly and secure learning and working environment.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students, and general school matters.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains professional relationship between school and parents.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains contact with parents through parent-teacher conferences, telephone, or written communications.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains all records as required, including but not limited to grade books, attendance records and student progress reports.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Assists in the protection of student and school property.&nbsp;</li><li>Keeps up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Diocese Catholic Schools.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li>Monitors students in a testing environment.&nbsp;</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.&nbsp;</li></ul>",
