    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong>General Description</strong></p><p>The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide nursing care and health oversight for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) living in a state-funded group home. The RN will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure that residents receive high-quality, person-centered care, and are supported in achieving their optimal health outcomes. This position requires clinical expertise, a compassionate approach, and an understanding of the unique health needs of individuals with IDD.</p><p><strong>Job Duties</strong></p><p>&bull; Conduct initial and ongoing health assessments for all residents, including monitoring vital signs, physical health, and any chronic conditions or co-occurring health issues.</p><p>&bull; Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans for each resident, ensuring that health needs are identified and addressed.</p><p>&bull; Oversee medication administration processes, including the review of medication orders, preparation of medications, and monitoring for any adverse effects or medication errors.</p><p>&bull; Provide nursing interventions as needed, including wound care, catheter care, G-tube feedings, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians.</p><p>&bull; Regularly assess the health status of residents, identifying and addressing any changes in condition, and coordinating medical care as needed.</p><p>&bull; Work closely with residents&#39; primary care physicians and specialists to ensure that medical needs are met, and treatments are appropriately implemented.</p><p>&bull; Provide immediate response to medical emergencies, perform triage, and coordinate care with emergency services if needed.</p><p>&bull; Educate residents, families, and staff on health-related topics, including chronic disease management, nutrition, hygiene, and wellness.</p><p>&bull; Serve as a health advocate for residents, ensuring their healthcare rights and needs are met. Act as a liaison between residents and healthcare providers.</p><p>&bull; Train and supervise direct care staff in health-related areas, including medication administration, infection control, and recognizing signs of illness or distress.</p><p>&bull; Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records for each resident, including care plans, progress notes, and incident reports.</p><p>&bull; Ensure that all nursing activities comply with Maryland state regulations, Medicaid waiver programs, and other applicable healthcare laws and guidelines.</p><p>&bull; Monitor and document any health-related incidents, including falls, injuries, or medication errors. Implement corrective actions as necessary to prevent recurrence.</p><p>&bull; Participate in regular quality assurance activities, including internal audits and reviews, to ensure the quality of care provided to residents.</p><p>&bull; Other duties as assigned.</p><p><strong>Knowledge &amp; Abilities</strong></p><p>&bull; Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to develop and implement care plans.</p><p>&bull; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</p><p>&bull; Proficiency in managing and administering medications.</p><p>&bull; Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.</p><p>&bull; Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.</p><p><strong>Education, Licenses, &amp; Training</strong></p><p>&bull; Associate or Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in nursing from an accredited program.</p><p>&bull; Current, active RN license in the state of Maryland.</p><p>&bull; Certification in developmental disabilities nursing (C-DDN) or other relevant certifications preferred.</p><p>&bull; 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in a group home, long-term care, or IDD setting.</p><p>&bull; Experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly preferred.</p><p><strong>Shift</strong></p><p>&bull; Monday &ndash; Friday 9am &ndash; 5:00pm and flexibility to accommodate individual needs and schedule variations.</p></div></div>\n",
