Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Winter Park Resorts total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.</p><p></p><p><b>Hourly pay range: $19 - $28</b></p><p></p><p><u><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES:</b></u></p><ul><li><p>Provide leadership of daily training for program participants with the Freestyle Head coach.</p></li><li><p>Communicate effectively with parents and athletes.</p></li><li><p>Prepare and implement technical teaching progressions, methodologies and content for daily training for athletes in conjunction with Freestyle Head Coach and Program Senior Manager/Director.</p></li><li><p>Set and maintain courses and closures, following course setting standards of the USASA, US Ski and Snowboard and FIS</p></li><li><p>Have high standards for safety in all training environments.</p></li><li><p>Assure that all facilities and equipment are properly maintained and stored.</p></li><li><p>Video and conduct video analysis sessions with participants on a regular basis.</p></li><li><p>Conduct athlete goal setting meetings at start of year, review throughout season, and at the end of the season.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate team travel to Freestyle events and other local, regional and national competitions.</p></li><li><p>Responsible for FIS and Comp Team athlete supervision, van transportation, team captain’s meeting representation, accommodation, lodging check in/out, and on-hill coaching duties at these events.</p></li><li><p>Provide positive feedback on a daily basis to participants and submit written mid-season and year-end evaluations on each participant.</p></li><li><p>Assist athletes and their families in obtaining equipment from ski manufacturers’ representatives.</p></li><li><p>Participate in coaches meetings, briefings, and other professional functions as directed by Freestyle/Freeskiing Senior Manager/Director.</p></li><li><p>Work closely with the Freestyle comp team coaches and freestyle Head Coach</p></li><li><p>Plan for spring, summer and fall on and off snow ski and conditioning camps and dry land activities in conjunction with the Freestyle/ Freeskiing Sr Manager/Director and Sports Performance Manager.</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Other duties:</p><ul><li><p>Maintain a friendly, congenial and helpful attitude while effectively dealing with athletes, parents, guests and employees.</p></li><li><p>Report any unsafe conditions which may affect athlete, employee or public safety</p></li><li><p>Attend weekly Competition Center director meetings and bring forth program issues</p></li><li><p>Enforce athlete code-of-conduct and hold self, staff, and athletes to the highest standard of behavior</p></li><li><p>Address any breach of conduct immediately and inform/involve other staff members as necessary</p></li><li><p>Must wear radio during all training sessions</p></li><li><p>Must wear uniform at all times while coaching and during work hours</p></li></ul><p></p><p><u><b>EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</b></u></p><ul><li><p>High school graduate or GED is required.</p></li><li><p>Advanced level skiing skills and knowledge as indicated by demonstration to Supervisor/Director.  Equivalent to skills required for Level 100 education in US Ski and Snowboard Coaches Education</p></li><li><p>Should have a minimum of three seasons as a coach in an organized  US Ski and Snowboard, or have experience at the NorAm level.</p></li><li><p>Experience in ski tuning, boot modification, and related equipment experience desirable.</p></li><li><p>Should be competent in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook (email)</p></li><li><p>Experience in physical literacy, physical fitness and dry land training programs desirable.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><u><b>QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:</b></u></p><ul><li><p>US Ski &amp; Snowboard Level I Coaching certification or equivalent required.</p></li><li><p>Trampoline certification and experience teaching at a gravity facility</p></li><li><p>First Aid/CPR certification required.</p></li><li><p>Safe Sport Certification required.</p></li><li><p>Valid Colorado Driver’s License and a clean motor vehicle record – required</p></li><li><p>Knowledge about the chemical treatment of snow</p></li><li><p>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer functionality required.</p></li><li><p>Is honest and demonstrates integrity</p></li><li><p>Is able to manage confidential information</p></li><li><p>Should be familiar with proper waxes and overlays and training equipment</p></li><li><p>Is trustworthy and self-directed in work tasks</p></li><li><p>Is able to handle a fast-paced working environment</p></li><li><p>Must be able to successfully manage multiple, high-priority tasks</p></li><li><p>Is flexible with days and hours of work, based on resort needs</p></li><li><p>Can deal effectively with poor staff and athlete performance and affect positive change</p></li><li><p>Effective communicator with athletes and parents and understands the importance of all players in the coach-athlete-parent triangle</p></li><li><p>Strong coordination and organizational skills</p></li><li><p>Web editing or programming experience (will use Sprongo and Coaches Eye video analysis software)</p></li><li><p>Adapts well to change</p></li><li><p>Must own comfortable skis and ski boots (will be required to spend long days on the hill)</p></li></ul><p></p><p><u><b>TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: </b></u></p><p>May be extensive depending upon group age and experience and may include off-season camps.</p><p></p><p><u><b>PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:</b></u></p><p><b>Mountain Environment:</b></p><ul><li><p>The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...</p></li><li><p>The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.</p></li><li><p>Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.</p></li><li><p>Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude.  Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products.
