Because we have strong reason to believe the position will be approved soon, we are proceeding with identifying qualified candidates and conducting interviews. **</strong></em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The <strong>Junior Stress Analys</strong>t will:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support structural analysis tasks supporting our NASA/JSC customer in the Structures Branch</li>\n <li>Review and understand structural requirements on Flight Hardware, Ground Support Equipment, and Test Support </li>\n <li>Equipment Use stress analysis experience to perform classical hand calculations for stress analysis and determine Margins of Safety</li>\n <li>Create Finite element models using PATRAN, FEMAP, or more advanced solutions in MSC/MARC</li>\n <li>Apply loads and boundary conditions to Finite Element Models, post-process results.</li>\n <li>Calculate Margins of Safety for parts and assemblies</li>\n <li>Prepare structural analysis reports</li>\n <li>Collaborate with other engineers to find resolutions to technical issues</li>\n <li>Assess parts and Assemblies for Fracture Control per NASA-STD-5019</li>\n <li>Assess Fastener/Joint assemblies per NASA-STD-5020</li>\n <li>Be familiar with NASA-STD-5001, NASA-STD-5005, and other relevant NASA standards</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Education/Experience/Skills:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, plus one (1) year of experience in the field or in a related area.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with desktop software applications, MS Office is required.</li>\n <li>Must have excellent oral and written communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferences:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous experience performing structural analysis on NASA spaceflight hardware</li>\n <li>Previous Experience using the Finite Elements Analysis Tools listed in the job description</li>\n <li>Previous Experience or familiarity with NASGRO</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Essential Requirements </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.</li>\n <li>Applicant selected may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.</li>\n <li>Work may involve sitting for extended periods.</li>\n <li>May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.</li>\n <li>Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.</li>\n <li>Generally, an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.</li>\n <li>Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.)</li>\n <li>Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.</li>\n <li>Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.</li>\n <li>Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.</li>\n <li>Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.</li>\n <li>Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.</li>\n <li>This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong><em>Don’t miss out on this great opportunity; for immediate consideration, apply now!</em></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Barrios Technology is a drug-free workplace, which is imperative to the health and safety of all employees and is required as a condition of receiving contracts from federal agencies.
