Overview
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive EHS Coordinator to lead and optimize EHS programs and enhance our Environmental, Health and Safety Initiatives. This role will be responsible for fostering a culture of safety and sustainability across the site.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve training processes, record-keeping systems, and employee development frameworks. Implement best practices in ergonomics, hygiene sampling, and job hazard analysis.
Training: Ensure employees are trained and new hires receive introductory and follow-up training.
Audit & Compliance: Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with EHS and Quality standards, as well as federal, state, and local regulations. Serve as the lead for ISO 14001 audits, ensuring system integrity and audit readiness.
EHS Investigations & Inspections: Lead or support investigations of health and safety incidents. Inspect and maintain plant safety equipment, including fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, emergency lighting, ladders, forklifts, and related systems.
Performance Metrics & Reporting: Monitor and report EHS metrics including Near Misses, DWB (Days Without a Breakthrough), VSL hours, utility usage, and emissions.
Committee Leadership: Lead safety and training committee meetings, facilitate feedback discussions, and implement improvements. Conduct GEMBA walks with committee members to identify and address safety and training opportunities.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High School diploma;
2–4 years of experience in an HR or Safety role within a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with ISO 14001 and AS9100/AS13100 audit processes and compliance standards.
Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Experience tracking and analyzing training metrics and KPIs.
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and environmental regulations.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Excellent time management, organizational, and planning skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Effective interpersonal and public speaking skills.
Collaborative mindset and ability to work well in team environments.
SCHEDULE
Standard schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day. Must be available for overtime as needed. This is an on-site position; remote work is not available. On-call availability required for 2nd shift support.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Must be able to navigate all departments within a manufacturing environment. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and safety shoes. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
