    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Job Title: Sr. Production Supervisor 2nd Shift </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Job location: Torrance, CA</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Salary: $100,000-$120,000/yr</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We currently have an opportunity for a <strong>2nd shift</strong> <strong>Sr Production Supervisor</strong> to lead a highly skilled manufacturing group at our Torrance, California location.  In this position, you will be responsible for the high-quality assembly and test of precision Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) vacuum electronic components for commercial and government satellite applications; this requires meeting extremely high manufacturing standards with challenging lead times and cost considerations.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Management and training of hourly employees</li>\n <li>Supporting development and implementation of Lean process improvement plans</li>\n <li>Providing accurate production status updates to Operations management, Program Management, Engineering, and downstream production areas.</li>\n <li>Ensure all work is completed on time and to specification</li>\n <li>Responsible for mentoring, leading and supervising employees</li>\n <li>Supervise the production flow within their respective areas and ensure safety and the efficiency of the entire shop floor</li>\n <li>Assess the work performance of employees against clearly established expectations and identify areas that need improvement (provide documented coaching where necessary)</li>\n <li>Work with technicians, manufacturing engineers, test engineers and quality teams to resolve reoccurring nonconformance issues</li>\n <li>Ensure that business goals, deadlines and performance standards are met</li>\n <li>Coordinate with engineering and other departments to minimize production interruptions</li>\n <li>Schedule risk identification and mitigation</li>\n <li>Collaborate with manufacturing and design engineers for development teardowns</li>\n <li>Perform root cause analysis and the implementation of corresponding corrective action plans</li>\n <li>Reduction of downtime for product and personnel</li>\n <li>Lead efforts to transition products from engineering development to full rate production</li>\n <li>Review work instructions to ensure shop floor tech’s have accurate and complete instructions and if necessary, recommend changes</li>\n <li>Meet tight production schedules to achieve high-rate production</li>\n <li>Train and onboard newly hired employees to make sure they understand their roles</li>\n <li>Drive shop floor culture, enforce systems and corporate policies</li>\n <li>Develop, initiating, coordinating, and enforcing system policies, and procedures</li>\n <li>Monitor labor hours and overtime, and implement improvement plans and strong time management with staff</li>\n <li>Capacity planning of equipment and personnel</li>\n <li>Conduct stand-up meetings with employees and management of area metrics</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment or 6+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment - preferably with manufacturing and testing of precision RF and electronic products.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated leadership skills are necessary, with previous supervisory experience highly preferred.</li>\n <li>Must be able to interpret detailed engineering drawings and associated assembly instructions.</li>\n <li>Effective verbal and written communication skills are required.</li>\n <li>Ability to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.</li>\n <li>Previous experience working in a RF test environment.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems, such as Infor LN, is a plus.</li>\n <li>Experience in a union environment is beneficial.</li>\n <li>Lean manufacturing training and experience is a plus.</li>\n <li>Able to adapt to constant changing work assignments and fast paced work environment</li>\n <li>Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy</li>\n <li>Safety training and/or safety certifications</li>\n <li>Experience monitoring, tracking and continually improving the total cost equation</li>\n <li>Experience with applying lean manufacturing principles, efficiency methods</li>\n <li>Experience solving manufacturing problems related to incapable processes and or designs</li>\n <li>Demonstrated record of high-performance</li>\n <li>Must be able to obtain a security clearance</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Stellant Systems is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
