Description Summary The Flight Crew Scheduler Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and assisting with the day-to-day operational functions of crew scheduling and dispatch, ensuring that all flights are properly crewed and that all regulations are satisfied before departure. Essential Functions • Maintains the integrity of the Spartan flight schedule and assures the flight times are accurate • Act as the single point of contact for operations and communications of scheduling and dispatch • Supervise the scheduling and dispatch departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures • Monitor and follow up on dispatch cancelations • Supervise the work performance of crew schedulers and dispatchers and conduct performance related meetings and apply disciplinary action as required • Track on-time dispatch of flight instructors and students • Manage lesson cancelations per Spartan policies • Guide and direct students in scheduling flight operations and utilization of aircraft • Responsible for arrival/end-of-day inspection for security • Coordinate with instructors to ensure students for flight • Complete reports as required • Carry out plans for irregular operations, such as major cancellations, SWAP events and/or delays as planned by the Crew Coordinator • Coordinate with Dispatch, and Maintenance to resolve operational and instructor/student-related issues • Maintain professional manner and enforce the Student Code of Conduct rules while a positive, customer-friendly attitude • Ensure compliance with all Spartan policies and procedures related to flight and dispatch operations Knowledge / Skills • Scheduling and or dispatch knowledge • Demonstrates good judgment and confidentiality • Strong customer service skills • Excellent time management, follow-through and organizational skills • Strong communication and ability to build relationships with all levels of management and pilots • Strategic and forward-thinker • Ability to handle multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Word, Excel and Outlook • Strong knowledge of scheduling and flight software (Talon) Qualifications Education and Work Experience • High School diploma or GED required • Associate degree preferred • Two (2) years of scheduling experience preferred Supervisory Responsibilities • Flight Crew Scheduler(s) • Dispatcher(s) Certificates, License, Registrations • None required Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is primarily sedimentary and is performed in a professional office or operations control environment with minimal physical exertion required. This employee must also be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing to maintain close visual acuity for schedules, reports, and operational data in a fast-paced environment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit for prolonged periods of time; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. This position requires frequent use of computers, monitors, telephones, headsets, and other office equipment. The employee must frequently lift and/or balance up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.. This position may also require flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
