MEMBER SERVICES I JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Member Services I Classification: Part Time
Reports to: Associate Executive Director
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt Salary: $17.00 Per Hr.

Essential Functions:
• Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the
phone, contributing to member retention.
• Respond to general inquiries about our child care locations, including program details, admission requirements, and tuition fees.
• Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
• Secure the front door and grant entry to authorized individuals.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or
unresolved issues while upholding confidentiality with sensitive information.
• Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
• Responsible for knowing, implementing, and enforcing all emergency, safety, and security
procedures.
• Involvement in the recruitment of volunteers for annual YMCA sustaining campaign
• Follows the YMCA personnel policies, practices, salary administration plan, emergency procedures
and risk management procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments
of the community
• Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• Bi-lingual a plus
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
• The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee
to successfully perform the essential functions of this

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the
ability to adjust.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
